Delightful Dive Back Into Tyrus Rechs

Loved everything about this new release. Unlike other reviewers, I’m thrilled they used a new narrator. Despite the eloquence of Ray Porter, he made grizzled legionnaires sound like annoying adolescents. The story and deep delve into the life of the infamous bounty hunter/general was more than satisfying especially the further development of Baldur’s arc.

Good backstory

I’m not going to complain about the new narrator, I’m sure there’s a good reason. The only thing that bothered me was he used “bucket voice” when wraith was talking through comm. Legion buckets have the comm on the inside so the voice should be regular. The narrators attempt at bucket speak wouldn’t be annoying if he only used it for external communication. The story as always was superb.

This book feels like it was written by a Basic who read a comic book about legionnaires. The narrator doesn’t make it any better. I’ve listened to all the OoC books multiple times and this one is the worst.

Best Order of the Centurion Book

This should be part of main story arc. The narrative performance is incredible and the story fills a lot of gaps after Kublar and ‘Tom’. If you’re going to listen to any of the OotC series, this should be the one.
