A Great New Baldacci Character!!!!
Revisado: 12-18-15
Where does The Innocent: A Novel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would say pretty high.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot was great. The true identity and motives of the protagonists are not revealed until the very end. The entire story was complex, interesting, and unique.
What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?
I'm used to this duo. I always think they do a great job!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some pretty horrible things happen in the book, so it's hard not to feel an attachment to the characters as they react to multiple tragedies.

Revisado: 12-18-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Forgotten to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
John Puller was my favorite character. He is both a no-nonsense warrior and also one who is kind to kids and animals.
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked it when Puller took out 6 men single-handedly with the giant taking out the other 2.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely!

Two Pullers are better than one!
Revisado: 12-16-15
What did you love best about The Escape?
I am a big fan of the 1960's show 'The Fugitive.' This book was definitely original and bore no resemblance to that show other than it was the story of a well-educated, intelligent man, who is wrongly convicted, only to somehow escape, and ultimately prove his innocence. In this case it was against the backdrop of national security and espionage.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The first two John Puller books contained the Robert Puller character. Those books only revealed he had been convicted of espionage. However, It was clear the Puller brothers are close and it was always intimated Robert was innocent. I was happy to see that injustice resolved. Robert Puller is interesting enough to have a novel devoted to him. His presence helped to explain aspects of John Puller that had as yet to be revealed and gave the character added dimension. I'm close to my own brother and can communicate with him on a different level that no one else would understand. The Puller brothers have a deep connection. The Puller brothers are both brilliant, but different. Robert Puller is more of an administrative/technological person whereas John Puller likes to be in the field.
Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?
Definitely not my favorite character, but I loved Cassidy's work as Reynolds. She did a great job of making me hate the character, which was the point, since the character was the main villain...a villain with no remorse who acts indignant when confronted with the truth. A true sociopath. Cassidy captures how I perceive the character very well.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
'Blood or Consequences'.. or 'Who Would You Trust?'..maybe. John Puller is faced with a difficult situation in that his duty to country always comes first. However, his love for his brother leads him to disregard orders and obligations at great risk. It's revealed that his brother was indeed innocent, so John Puller not turning him over to the authorities when they finally meet didn't conflict with his patriotism but it did conflict with his military demands. I'd love to cast this movie. I'd love to see it hit the big screens as long as they focus on story over action. The book has plenty of action and some sudden twists, but it's real strength is that other than the Puller brothers, I never really know who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. The plot is definitely relevant to today's geopolitical situation
Any additional comments?
I like the John Puller Sr. character. I think there is still an aura of mystery about him (especially since it is revealed that his wife suddenly vanished...a story I hope is addressed in a future John Puller novel). The gag where he calls John his XO and John reports to him as though he were the XO is humorous yet touching. Though tough on the outside, this book revealed his true feelings of pride about his sons. I'm still not sure if he actually has dementia or is faking it for some reason. His letter on behalf of Robert revealed he has moments of definite clarity and could indicate he had to tip his hand a little bit to save his son. The letter was too well thought out to be the work of someone in the latter stages of dementia. In the previous John Puller novel, Puller Sr. was able to comprehend the meaning of a letter sent to him by his sister. Though he didn't convey any particular insights about the letter to John he nevertheless got John to investigate...which was basically the purpose of the letter. The Puller books deal with espionage and people who aren't who they seem. I hope Puller Sr. doesn't die in a VA hospital from dementia. I'd like to see him go out in a blaze of glory...something befitting his legend.

Another great Baldacci thriller!
Revisado: 12-06-15
What made the experience of listening to The Sixth Man the most enjoyable?
I kind of like the sound effects and dramatic music. I'm not inclined to be too critical of the presentation. It's not a Hollywood production and there is no reason to expect anything overly fancy.
What did you like best about this story?
The story had many plot twists and you never knew who was on who's side. As with other books in this series, a little bit of the puzzle is revealed gradually with each chapter. It kept me interested. I finished listening in 3 days.
What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?
I was worried about the narration based on the comments, but I thought it was fine. I'd rather McLarty narrate it by himself but I didn't think the addition of Cassidy ruined anything. They are the narrators for the next book, King and Maxwell, and it isn't going to stop me from buying that audiobook. They are simply reading the book. In my mind I already have a mental image of what Sean and Michelle look and sound like. The accents didn't bother me..it's just their take on the characters.

Historia
In February 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers in the Russian Ural Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incident—unexplained violent injuries, signs that they cut open and fled the tent without proper clothing or shoes, a strange final photograph taken by one of the hikers, and elevated levels of radiation found on some of their clothes—have led to decades of speculation over what really happened.

Eichar gives a brilliant narrative. By focusing on the lives of the victims, we see that they were normal people. It helps one understand the complete tragedy of the event. He arrives at a very well-researched and plausible hypothesis as to what may have actually happened. It's clear that Eichar has a genuine passion for understanding this baffling mystery.
