Historia
Kyle Fasano has it all: a loving wife, two children, and a house on the hill. Still, for one night it's not enough. Risking everything, he has a fling with a woman from the office. He knows better, but she offers a simple temptation. Napoleon Villa has very little: no real family, no real home. A veteran detective for the LAPD, he is a gray wolf in an ever-darkening world. When the call comes in that a young woman has plummeted to her death at the Los Angeles Hilton, it seems like just another case.

Great performance from the reader. The rest is like listening to that one grandparent who's just lived way too long and done nothing exciting in their life; "Did I ever tell you about that time I made some toast and the burned part looked like a cross?" Yes, grandma!
Anyway, just read an encyclopedia or the backs of cereal boxes instead.

Bizarre and fascinating.
Revisado: 05-14-22
I don't know what to say about this book...
A bizarre tale of gay sex with angry gods and mushy headed aliens, interspersed with a frantic journey through time and space. I wouldn't say I didn't find it entertaining, but there's no satisfaction in any part of the tale. It feels like there should be about 50% more book while it's faffing about in the middle; some explanation or expose with regards to the characters we're introduced to there, but there's nothing there. Instead we're treated to about 5 lines of dialog that is supposed to provide some clarity 3 chapters from the end. The surreal, fever dream, meandering only serves to hinder the story as the pathetic, weak, whining, MC, bumbles his way frivolously through to his inevitable pathetic end. Is this book meant to tell us something about ourselves? I can't say. Are we meant to be in awe at the grandeur of the Universe? Not if it's inhabited with capricious, frivolous, silly, god-things like those we find in this story.
In the end all I can really say is that, if you disengage your rational mind and bob along down the tumultuous stream of this book you will be entertained, but ultimately left unfulfilled and wanting.
The narrator is excellent and the book is written technically well.

Historia
In 2018, Canadian archaeologist Ron Jackson makes a mind-boggling discovery in Antarctica - right before disappearing without a trace, leaving behind only his controversial theory that humans have lived on Earth far, far longer than we think they have. Decades later, in 2042, when Jackson's wife dies under mysterious circumstances, an unlikely pair of investigators, Agatha Devenworth and Pano Hofer, begin investigating whether her death might be connected to Jackson's disappearance.

Interesting take on an old idea
Revisado: 09-22-21
This is a decent rehash of ideas like The Martian Chronicles and Red Planet. Nothing really new, but the writing is decent and the performance is excellent. Pick it up, it's worth a casual listen.

Historia
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

Don't skip this 5* review!
Revisado: 07-31-21
I love picking up unreviewed titles! You never know. The casual nature of the story, with a very likeable and interesting MC, subtlety hides a story with deep meaning and resonance. It's funny, action filled, intriguing and thought provoking. The writing is excellent as well, with brilliant narration! I look forward to more Jack Gripper novels.

Historia
What if you woke up one morning on another planet, with little to no memory of how you arrived? What would you do? This is the quandary that former CIA operative James Singer finds himself in. Though his new caretakers appear to be a friendly race, the pending invasion sitting just outside the atmosphere forces him to wonder what kind of mess he has been thrown into this time.

Revisado: 07-16-21
so, the story is lacking at best. I mean, really obvious, over the top, and simple. the characters are vanilla and boring. nothing has any vibrancy. the writing is at least decent, so there's that, but there's not enough substance here to connect the reader to the story or the characters. I couldn't even tell you what the main character aliens even look like! shallow is how I would describe the entire content. get it if it's on sale or something, otherwise don't bother.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

This book is great! Easy listen/read, performance is excellent, but the story is...plain? It's like a perfect slice of white bread. It's good, but it's still white bread. Get it. Enjoy it. Hopefully something more interesting happens in the next one.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

So good it doesn't seem like a 25 hour book. So good it feels like a normal story, instead of Litrpg (which, lets face it, is usually bad). Funny, engaging, interesting, whimsical. Can't wait for the next one!

Revisado: 01-28-21
This isn't *exactly* a time travel book, so get that idea out of your head straight away and you'll enjoy this one a lot more! That being said, it IS one of the most F'ed up love stories I've ever read. All the characters are interesting and weird. The MC's have unique and diverse personalities. And the best part is, there are so many questions left when it ends!
Get this one. Just DO IT!
