Him by Serena Bowen and Elle Kennedy is an MM, new-adult, friends-to-lovers sports romance told in first person dual POV. The story follows the relationship between hockey players Ryan Wesley and Jamie Canning, estranged friends whose relationship changes after they reunite, discovering and exploring sexuality and feelings for each other.

I loved Wes and Jamie’s story! I was hooked right from the start and finished it in one sitting. The progression of Wes and Jamie’s relationship from friends to lovers felt natural and believable. The humor, banter, chemistry, and steamy scenes were simply *chef’s kiss*. If you love audiobooks, you should definitely check this one out because it’s pure ear candy. The narration with Jacob Morgan (Zachary Webber) as Wes and Teddy Hamilton as Jamie is fantastic! Highly recommended in every available format.

Dearest Clementine (Dearest #1) by Lex Martin is a standalone, new adult, contemporary romance with a mystery subplot. The story was simply delightful. It was sweet, humorous and romantic with a touch of mystery/suspense. The characters were well-developed, relatable, and likeable. It was easy to get invested in them.

Writing student, Clem, is a smart, beautiful, sarcastic introvert. She's also extremely private, standoffish, cold, and completely closed-off to the opposite sex. She has some major issues - and with good reason. Several bad experiences involving her high school (ex)boyfriend, her former best friend, her parents, and a college professor/mentor have taught Clem that she can't trust anyone. When she accidentally signs up for a romance writing class, she's at a loss for what to write due to lack of inspiration and personal experience.

Then there's RA, journalist and musician Gavin. Wow! He's totally swoony! Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous - described as a Henry Cavill lookalike - but he's sweet, patient, strong, protective, honest, understanding, and supportive. He knows what he wants, and he wants Clem. But how will he get past all of her walls? He proposes to help her find inspiration by acting like a real-life "book boyfriend" - but just as friends. It's all in the name of research.

I loved this story! Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down. The narration was spot on! The chemistry between Clem and Gavin was off the charts, the secondary characters were fantastic, and the ending was completely satisfying. I highly recommend it.

Marriage of Inconvenience (Knitting in the City Book 7) by Penny Reid, narrated by Angela Dawe and Stephen Dexter, is a contemporary romantic comedy featuring the marriage of convenience trope. I eagerly anticipated the release of this book, the conclusion to the Knitting in the City Series, and I was not at all disappointed. I loved Kat and Dan's story. It was sweet, sexy, and laugh-out-loud funny! I especially LOVED Dan and his fantastically foul mouth - his creative cursing was hysterical. The epilogue gave a glimpse of the future and left me with the hope for more. . . Another spin-off maybe? I guess we'll see! The narration was fantastic - sexy, engaging, entertaining, and with great comedic timing!

What He Always Knew by Kandi Steiner, narrated by Erin Mallon, Jason Clarke, and Sebastian York, is a full length, contemporary romance told in multiple POV. Picking up where the previous book ended, the emotional roller coaster continues in this stunning conclusion. Wickedly addictive, I immediately started it after finishing part one.

Charlie is as confused as ever. Torn between two men who are fighting for her, she has agreed to make a decision in two months. Will she choose her husband, Cameron, the man she vowed to spend her life with? Or will she choose, Reese, her childhood first love?

A perfect conclusion to the duet, and just as heartbreaking as part one. This story completely slayed me. I totally ugly-cried - over and over again. Painfully perfect, I loved every minute. It was beautifully written, heart-wrenching, poetic, captivating, raw, spellbinding, thought-provoking and emotionally gripping. The narration was compelling, keeping me entirely enthralled from start to finish. Simply phenomenal! This duet is one of my favorite stories not only of 2018 but of all time. It's just that good!

What He Doesn't Know by Kandi Steiner, narrated by Erin Mallon, Jason Clarke, and Sebastian York, is a full length, contemporary romance mostly told in dual POV, though a third POV is introduced at the end. What can I say about this book? "HOLY CRAP!!!" is what immediately comes to mind, because this totally put me through the ringer. If like me, you are a fan of angst-ridden stories that take you on an emotional roller coaster ride, then this is for you.

Kindergarten teacher, Charlie Pierce, is lonely, grieving and starved for affection. Things have been different between her and her husband, Cameron, for quite some time. She misses him. He's been so distant and she doesn't know how to reach him anymore. She feels joyless and dead inside.

When Charlie's first crush, her brother's best friend, Reese, comes back into town and accepts a teaching position at the school where she works, old feelings resurface. A spark is ignited and she begins to feel alive again. Charlie quickly finds herself overcome with confusion - torn between feelings for Cameron, the man she planned a future with, and Reese, the unrequited love of her past.

This was a gut-wrenching story that completely wrecked me. I can't remember the last time I cried this much. It ripped my heart out, but it hurt so good! The writing was impeccable, stunning, lyrical, raw, and heartbreakingly beautiful. An instant favorite, The narration was compelling, emotional and simply fantastic! I absolutely loved it!

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner, narrated by Lauren Sweet, is an emotional, contemporary, friends to lovers, new adult romance. It is told from the single perspective of the main character, Brecks who goes by "B", and spans a period of 10+ years.

The story follows B's friendship with Jamie aka "Whiskey" through the years as they both experience various struggles and hardships as well as relationships. Their connection is likened to alcohol addiction as there is a continual magnetic pull between them which wreaks havoc on their lives. Bad timing, stupidity, circumstances, and stubbornness keep them apart for the bulk of the story.

This book is an angst lovers dream which will put you through the emotional ringer. The writing was lyrical, poetic, and completely stunning. I enjoyed the narration and found it to be engaging and captivating from beginning to end. The story was painfully heart-wrenching, and I've got to admit... I drank it in, savoring it, and I loved every last drop.

Write Naked by Jennifer Probst, narrated by Kelsey Navarro, is a candid account of the author's journey to success. Full of honest anecdotes of her mistakes along the way, she provides encouragement and examples of what pitfalls to avoid. Excerpts from her books are shared to demonstrate different elements of craft. The narration was clear and concise, an easy and enjoyable listen. An engaging, humorous, and useful resource that I know I will return to as I move forward in my writing endeavors.
