Key phrases are repeated so often throughout this book. I was either laughing or fast forwarding while driving because I knew that the repetitive phrases were coming up. Kevin Pierce is an awesome narrator and is why I finished the book.

An addictive listen

I seldom read novels but I thought I'd try this for the historical aspect. Initially, when I heard Linda Lavin's voice, I thought "oh no," but Linda Lavin was the PERFECT narrator. Her inflection and emotion were spot on and I had to love her for this - and the writing of Anita Diamant brought the characters to life and made me feel as if I knew them. She offered a glimpse into the atmosphere of the era and the people. I loved this listen with joy and tears.
