Historia
For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard. Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes.

Rapp the early years
Revisado: 01-25-21
I read a much later Rapp book a month ago, and was so intrigued, I decided to start at the beginning. What a concept, right? Well done origin stories in book 1 and this one. Not only Rapp. I've enjoyed learning about Irene and the others as well. All couched in the context of CIA subtrafuge and intrigue.

Good, but not best
Revisado: 05-11-20
Overall, a fun romp all over the world searching for the Arc. The good guys are, well, good, and the bad ones, even badder. A mysterious 'helper' to guide the team. The usual cloak and dagger fun stuff as well. What disappointed me was that ending. Things got wrapped up in the typical Alex Lukeman manner, but it felt contrived. That's all I can say without spoilers. Up til then, so long as you suspend what you know and how you know it, esp in regards to the Arc, it's fun.

Revisado: 03-18-20
Just finished the fifth of this series, and it still feels fresh and exciting. The bad guys get their comeuppance, the good guys prevail, paying some cost, and the world spins another day. In all the books so far, the premise has been interesting. Looking forward to #6!

I'm hooked on this series. Good writing, Jack the reader does a great job bringing the characters to life, and the plot could be ripped from today's headlines.

A fast-paced thriller that spins a web of deceit and murder across the globe, featuring characters caught up in a deadly international power game. International intrigue, terrorist acts, romance, patriotism, and the threat of nuclear war form the core of the book, the first volume in a series featuring Nick, Selena, the Project and the ongoing, complex relationship between the main protagonists.

I'm hooked. I love the characters, plot moves at a good pace, plenty of world destruction and bad guys, just the right amount of sex (which means just enough to get the idea across and move on). I'm def a new fan!

Nice read
Revisado: 02-19-20
So glad this novel restored my faith in action adventure. After reading a pretty lame, exposition-heavy novel, this book was a welcome change. I loved the concept, the characters were well developed and easy to keep track of; thanks in no small part to a good narration. DEF downloading his next book!

Fun
Revisado: 03-30-19
My first book by this author. And what a fun ride! They story, for me, was a bit he d to follow for the first few chapters, and what kept me going was the stellar narration by ms. Rosenblat. I could 'we'd each character. Her ability to make each one unique should be taught at narrators school 😄. Looking forward to another wonderful Romo with Peabody, Emerson, and clan.

Caught my attention
Revisado: 03-20-19
First off, this is a slow-burn kind of read. It started out for me not particularly engaging, but I liked the characters enough to keep going. I'm so glad I did! Once I got into the rhythm of the plot and the eccentricities of the characters, I was hooked. To the point that I've just downloaded the other two in this series. I love the relationship between Holmes and Watson, and even the 'shady past' of a certain character. It all adds to a wonderfully rich telling of what we thought we once know of these iconic characters. So release any expectation you might have-- you're in for a grand ride!

A rip off
Revisado: 01-29-19
I'm surprised at the overall rating of this book -- it's why I bought this..... but wow, a disappointment on many levels. First, the narrator reminded of Eeyore, from Winnie the Pooh. If he doesn't put to sleep, you're better than I. He did improve a little when we was 'being' the characters, but overall, too much of a somnambulantic distraction. When I put his reading aside, and am able to focus on the story, it started out pretty well; the first half of the book, in fact, held my interest (despite the reader). The last half of the book (or thereabouts), the author went in a direction that was a direct rip-off of a popular syfy TV show. That, plus the abundance of cliches', and I ended up skipping many chapters just to get to the end. There's a lot more that I found troublesome with this book, but I want to forget I ever read it.
