Historia
Ephram Jennings has never forgotten the beautiful girl with the long braids running through the piney woods of Liberty, their small East Texas town. Young Ruby, “the kind of pretty it hurt to look at,” has suffered beyond imagining, so as soon as she can, she flees suffocating Liberty for the bright pull of 1950s New York. Ruby quickly winds her way into the ripe center of the city - the darkened piano bars and hidden alleyways of the Village - all the while hoping for a glimpse of the red hair and green eyes of her mother.

Totally Unprepared!
Revisado: 03-04-13
Where does Fifty Shades of Grey rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Probably in the middle. I had not read any of the hype on the Fifty Shades although there was quite a bit of it on Pinterest. I just didn't pay attention. By the end of the trilogy though it had grown on me and I would have to say that it had moved up in my list of favorites.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades of Grey?
When Anastasia meets grey at the Hotel and he brings the contract for her to read. Ana's character is such a thoughtful character and I liked that about her. She was her own person and she did not just rush into anything she did.. I adored her all through the trilogy.
What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?
Everything! She was spectacular! She did an awesome job narrating on all three books. She became one of my favorite narrators through this narrating of this trilogy.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes I did because of the subject matter of the book, I found myself having emotions of anger, sadness, and even happiness at some points. It definitely is a series that takes you on a ride of emotions, so you had better be ready to expect that before you read the whole trilogy.
Any additional comments?
I started reading this series with trepidation but easily got sucked in by the story line. I know there are many that would not be brave enough to read it, but I am glad I did. I feel it is a piece of work well written and takes the listener on an emotional ride that you find yourself remembering parts of it long after you have finished it. I am flad it became a part of my library.

Historia
A compassionate, humorous story of faith, betrayal, and coming of age on the sawdust trail. She was just three years old when her mother signed on as the organist of tent revivalist David Terrell, and before long, Donna Johnson was part of the hugely popular evangelical preacher’s inner circle. At seventeen, she left the ministry for good, with a trove of stranger-than-fiction memories.

An Amazing Story of Courage and Hope
Revisado: 02-01-13
Where does Holy Ghost Girl rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Because I know the author personally it rates pretty far towards the top of the list.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Donna and her brother. Because of the experiences they had to endure.
What about Carrington MacDuffie’s performance did you like?
In talking to Donna about the audible book she said sometimes she thought that maybe she should have narrated it her self, but, after listening to the book I think that Carrington did a superb job of narrating this book and portraying all of the characters. I sincerely enjoyed her performance.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did have an extreme reaction. There may have been some laughing but more crying. It was so sad to see how Donna's Mother left she and her brother long the way to be with this "evangelist". Of course later finally finding out that their Mom was sleeping with him and having children by him.
The journey through her life following this lifestyle had to be one of complete confusion to a young child, but they followed along being made to feel this was the only life there was to live.
As Donna became older and rebelled against the way she had been brought up, she always had thoughts in the back of her mind about David Terrell and his teachings., but mostly missing the children she had grown up with.
Any additional comments?
I have been to two events where Donna has come to talk about her book, they were intimate enough that I was fortunate enough to sit with her at both events. In talking to her and now having listened to the book, it is quite amazing to me that she grew up to be the outstanding person she is. Many others would have been felt beat down and not have risen above the life she endured.
I highly recommend this book. It is a story that will leave you feeling so glad that she rose above her childhood and youth to become a wonderful woman and author.

Together Again!
Revisado: 08-08-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Separation of Power to be better than the print version?
For me it is as I am blind and am unable to read the print version. I used to love to read the print versions of books and rarely listened to audio books; only if I was traveling. Now with it being my only option I am thrilled to have the option of audio books.
What other book might you compare Separation of Power to and why?
Since this is the only the 2nd Vince Flynn book I have listened too I would have to say the first one I listened to. The reason being is I like the continuity of the characters.
What does Ken Kilban bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The expression and different nuances of the characters. There are always some narrators that are better than others but I believe he does a fine job of bringing this book to life. and holding your interest from one chapter to the next.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Another wild ride with Mitch Rapp

Historia
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

Two for the Dough is a Must Read!!
Revisado: 05-28-12
What made the experience of listening to Two for the Dough the most enjoyable?
CJ Critt is a great narrator for this series! She really makes each personality come to life. I enjoy having some of the same characters surface again in this second book of the Stephanie Plum series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It has to be Stephanie Plum. She just plays such a dunder-head of a personality. In the part she plays as a Bounty Hunter, it is just so darn funny the way she plays the part. In reality I would think someone who would be as dense a part as she plays ,would surely get knocked off, but she always comes out on top with the help of all of her awesomely funny friends. I love it!
What about C. J. Critt’s performance did you like?
Like I said earlier. She has a knack for creating the characters in a way that they really come to life in your mind.s eye
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. If I had the time to do that, I certainly would. great read!!
Any additional comments?
I really like this series. Janet Evanovich has a winning combination of characters in this series. I like her style of writing. Unlike some other authors that I read, she does not use a lot of minutia to clutter up the story. It is always quite straight forward.

Sitting on th the Edge of your seat!
Revisado: 05-14-12
Would you listen to Clear and Present Danger again? Why?
Yes and the reason is, it is so detailed there are so many things you can miss the first time through.
What did you like best about this story?
In the Jack Ryan series I always likeJack Ryan, but I also liked Mr.Clark and Mr. Chavez. the parts they play are very intense.
Have you listened to any of Michael Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, Much the same. He is a very fitting narrator for the Jack Ryan series.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the helicopter landed on the small boat out in the middle of the ocean during the hurricane to bring the surviving men to safety.
Any additional comments?
I always enjoy the Tom Clancy books and especially the Jack Ryan series. I just really enjoy his personality.

Historia
Told through the experiences of the four women who loved him, this imaginative account of Frank Lloyd Wright's raucous life blazes with Boyle's trademark wit and invention. Boyle's protean voice captures these very different women and, in doing so, creates a masterful ode to the creative life in all its complexity and grandeur.

The Dysfinctional Life of F L Wright and his Women
Revisado: 04-09-12
What made the experience of listening to The Women the most enjoyable?
Even though I felt like Frank Lloyd Wright was an opportunist and his outright abuse of the women and people in his life, the story was compelling enough to keep listening to the book.
Would you be willing to try another book from T. C. Boyle? Why or why not?
Yes, I would. He is so descriptive in his story line and he drew you into the story.
What does Grover Gardner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think he made the book much easier to follow than if I had been reading it. I can see where reading the book would have been much more difficult to follow. Mr Gardner was an extraordinary narrator in his performance. I would definitely want to listen to other books narrated by him.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When he was in China and his paramour for the moment left him and traveled into the mountains to get away from Frank. Then the letter writing back and forth between the two and then Mr. Wright showing up on her doorstep, and the two spending some time together alone before they went back to Hong Kong. He had an uncanny way of always getting his way.
Any additional comments?
Anyone interested in this book, I would recommend they listen to it rather than read it.
