I was not expecting to enjoy this book. More sex than plot though - but overall an enjoyable read.

The Night Huntress novels is one of my favorite series ever and listening to this in Graphic audio was another experience!

Some parts sound a little cheesy - especially the kissing parts - but overall, the listening experience was awesome! I honestly want the whole series to be made into Graphic audios!!!

I did not know that this book was related to the other book Repeat (which I really loved). It was quite a shock when Ed and Clementine were side characters to this book! 🧡

But let's talk about Pause. I decided to read this book because it was part of the Audible Plus catalog and the blurb sounded really interesting.

I enjoyed this, but not as much as I expected. Pause is really a low angst, low conflict romance, with a nice beta hero.

I really wanted to love this book, but ultimately the climax fell flat for me. There wasn't really a huge revelation on who the person who caused the accident was - or even more angst around the situation between Anna's ex-husband who had an affair with her best friend while she was in a coma.

Pause is a quick, relaxing, and low angst read if you are looking for something low key to read.

Zach is probably one of the few MC romances that I have read and I am interested to read more in this genre. This is also my first Lilly Atlas and I got hooked!

The title is deceptive, though. This is because the book doesn’t really focus on him, but Toni, the heroine. Zach is ultimately about redemption – especially Toni’s redemption. Toni returns to her hometown to run sell her parents diner after they passed away in a car accident. It also seems that Toni did not have a good childhood and she had already turned her life around.

One of the things that I liked about this romance is that Toni and Zach are next-door neighbors and actually grew up together. There are sweet scenes in the book that I loved and made me fall for Zach, myself. Zach is an enforcer of the Hell’s Handler’s MC and is currently in the middle of a turf-war with another gang.

What I didn’t like about this was Toni’s ex-boyfriend. I also didn’t like the way she broke up with him. And while it was pretty obvious that Tony's ex wasn’t a good person, it felt like he went off the rails because she broke up with him. This subplot was also not needed because the main villain was better!

There is a turf war going on between the Hell’s Handlers MC and another gang, who is led by a despicable character. His true villainy is revealed at almost the end of the book and his defeat was epic. Also, Toni is such a kick-ass character!

Zach is narrated by Erin deWard and Noah Michael Levine. This is actually a duet audiobook which actually took me by surprise! I do like it, but it takes a lot of getting used to. If you don’t know what a duet narration is, it’s when all the female voices are done by the female narrator and all the male voices are done by the male narrator throughout the book. It probably took me a couple of chapters to get the hang of it.

Both Erin deWard and Noah Michael Levine had good tone and pacing and I enjoyed both their voices.

I enjoyed Zach and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! The next book features Maverick and I am absolutely excited to read it!

I love my online book club! Through this book club, I found a lot of new to me authors that I absolutely loved! Once such book is Melt for You by J.T. Geissigner. I’ve never heard or read this author before and I was NOT disappointed!

Melt for You turned out to be a 5-star read and I literally could not stop listening to it! I was laughing out loud and crying (sometimes at the same time)! Yes, it was THAT good!

I normally don’t read slow-burn romances because sometimes, the relationship build-up is just too slow for me, but in Melt for You, it’s not! The chemistry between Cameron and Joellen was sizzling and the banter was amazing! I could not stop listening to the audiobook!

Oh, and did I mention that the heroine is curvy and older?! YES, MA’AM! I love how this book addressed Joellen’s insecurities and made her love the skin that she is in. Also, it’s Cam who helped her gain confidence and love herself.

Melt for You also started as an enemies-to-lovers romance because Joellen was annoyed when her new neighbor was making such a racket. Also, the banter is spectacular! Did I just say that twice? I’ll say it again; the banter is SPECTACULAR!

Cameron is a famous Scottish rugby player who is on holiday and is living at his cousin’s apartment in New York while his cousin is in Scotland. This is where Cam and Joellen meet! I love the side characters in this book, especially the retired theater actress (I forgot her name), who was so quirky and fun!

Ultimately, I loved Melt for You because it made me laugh and cry and the awesome character development. Throughout the book, you see how Joellen’s character and self-esteem grows, which is also apparent to her co-workers and her boss that she has had the hots for, for over 10 years!

I also love it when a curvy girl is represented well in romance. As a fellow curvy girl who ended up married to a guy who is slim, this romance ticked a lot of boxes for me.

Melt for You is also read in first-person POV – Joellen’s POV and I can’t help but want to read Cam’s POV so bad!

I highly recommend reading Melt for You! I’m in the middle of reading the first book, Burn for You which is awesome because the heroine is a chef and there is definitely a lot of southern cooking there! You also don’t need to read the first book in the series to enjoy Melt for You because these books are in fact, standalones and aren’t connected to each other!

I also got the companion audiobook for this and listened to it instead. It is read by Pippa Jayne and she is really good! The voices and pacing are on point and I didn’t have any problems with following the story.

Loved the story. Loved the romance but it would have been better if there were 2 narrators. Grace Grant is an awesome narrator, but her male voice didn't sound all that different from her female voice.

Well, well, well. Part-Time Lover was a charming surprise! Let me preface this review by saying that I LOVED Wanderlust so much that this book did not meet my expectations. Also, this book is one of my highly anticipated books this year! But since I read Wanderlust first, I was a tad bit disappointed.

We meet Elise in Wanderlust. She is Joy's close friend and we also meet Christian, who is Griffin's best mate. Part-Time Lover is their HEA and I have to say, their first meeting in Wanderlust whetted my appetite for more!

Elise and Christian "met" a year ago while Elise was in Copenhagen on vacay and was on a boat tour. She sees Christian in his birthday suit putting on a show for the tourists. Elise and Christian arrange to meet up that night without changing names. But FATE happened.

Part-Time Lover is a story about fate. For that one night, Elise and Christian never meet for their day but they meet a year later when Griffin and Joy invited both of them. This is where their romance starts.

I love the banter between Christian and Elise. Seriously! I found myself smiling while listening to the audio. Christian and Elise HAD chemistry and I love how they didn't immediately hook-up.

Part-Time Love is a marriage of convenience story, kind of a second chance romance and also features an older heroine! I was absolutely stoked about this because we hardly see this trope in the mainstream.

I loved Christian and Elise. Elise is such a strong and independent woman. She runs her own business and also blogs! I love her blog post snippets sprinkled throughout the book. Elise also has baggage and is not looking for romance. This was the main reason why she agreed to the marriage of convenience. Christian didn't have baggage which was very refreshing. In fact, he is the one with all the feels! So, so, so good!

What disappointed me was that Part-Time Lover is not as emotional as Wanderlust and the audio felt too short, despite it being 7 hours and 21 minutes.

I have to say that I really, really want Eric to have his own HEA! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Part-Time Lover is narrated by Grace Grant and Shane East and they were absolutely perfect! The stellar narration really made a difference in my enjoyment with the audiobook! Pacing and tone were perfect. Shane East also has a dreamy voice!

There are some books that sneak up on you. This is such a book. This is such a story. It’s not always clear why I like the things that I do and why I hate the things that I do, but –

I HATE this book.

I LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK.

I love this book so much. It took me on a journey, a trip, a gaze into a life well lived. In My Oxford Year, we take a journey with Ella, a journey to Oxford. But what is the most striking thing is that this book takes us on a journey of life.

I may sound so profound (or at least, I’m trying to be), but this book basically calls for it! This book has everything I love – culture, romance, life, and true love. It’s hard to point a finger at what this book really means to me, but it means so much.

While My Oxford Year is not a typical romance novel, it is so full of love. It’s also not as steamy as I’m used to – but it is absolutely perfect. I can’t even use that as a negative.

When I said I hated this book – I meant that I hate this book for what it made me feel. This book had all the signs of things that I absolutely hate in a novel, and yet I chose to read it. And I don’t regret it one bit. When I said I hated this book, I meant that this book gutted me in all the right places.

Not only is this book about romantic love, it’s also about family and friendship. I love Jamie’s relationship with his parents – how broken it was and how it was healed. I love both Jamie and Ella’s courage and I love the friendships each of them made.

My Oxford Year is really a romance at its core. And while the ending does feel a little bittersweet, I would not have it any other way. I am glad that Julia Whelan went this route. It felt real, and it felt right.

My Oxford Year is also narrated by Julia Whelan who is also a professional audiobook narrator! She is an amazing narrator and was perfect for My Oxford Year.

I can’t recommend My Oxford Year enough.

Boiling Point is my favorite in the series and OMG! I absolutely love Polly and Austin! Polly is a hacker, who is also an ex-con and is on a path of revenge! She wants to ruin the con artist who ruined her dad’s and her life. And who does she end up falling for but another con artist as well?

In Up in Smoke, we meet Austin in one of his disguises! He is a con man who uses his charm to get women to do his bidding. But what is surprising is that he is the sub in this relationship! Yes, there is a bit of a dom-sub relationship between Polly and Austin, with Polly taking the lead! Oh, and did I mention that Austin is British?

I personally love Boiling Point because I think there is more plot and more character development as compared to Tessa Bailey’s earlier books.

My only complaint with Boiling Point is that the defeat of the villain was too abrupt and felt too quick. I wanted more action, but unfortunately, there wasn’t.

Sometimes there is a book that transports you to a different place. Sometimes there is a book that will make you believe in fate and love and forever. This is that book. This is perhaps the first book that made me feel that I was in Paris. WOW. I am without words. Joy and Griffin's slow burn romance caught me by surprise. It felt real. It's hard to articulate what is it about this book that stands out. Perhaps it's every little thing about this book. The characters, the city, the food, the language, the culture, the romance - EVERYTHING.
