Historia
Growing up, Kate Priddy was always a bit neurotic, experiencing momentary bouts of anxiety that exploded into full-blown panic attacks after an ex-boyfriend kidnapped her and nearly ended her life. When Corbin Dell, a distant cousin in Boston, suggests the two temporarily swap apartments, Kate, an art student in London, agrees, hoping that time away in a new place will help her overcome the recent wreckage of her life. But soon after her arrival at Corbin's grand apartment on Beacon Hill, Kate makes a shocking discovery.

Great Performance for convoluted narrative
Revisado: 11-27-17
Peter Swanson has indeed written a couple of very interesting books - the best one being "The Girl With a Clock for a Heart".
I come to expect suspense, thriller, murder and the eventual twist.
This time around the narrative feels convoluted and contrived.
At some point it's just beyond the suspension of disbelief.
Nonetheless, Eva Kaminsky's performance definitely elevates the material, in giving depth and very distinctive voices and accents for different characters (even though the male characters are similarly sounding).
Even with it's minor flaws, it's a good listen.

Meg Murry, her little brother Charles Wallace, and their mother are having a midnight snack on a dark and stormy night when an unearthly stranger appears at their door. He claims to have been blown off course and goes on to tell them that there is such a thing as a "tesseract", which, if you didn't know, is a wrinkle in time. Meg's father had been experimenting with time travel when he suddenly disappeared. Will Meg, Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin outwit the forces of evil as they search through space for their father?

Unconvincing Narration
Revisado: 10-25-17
I have never read A Wrinkle in Time before and as soon as I heard Ava DuVernay was attachted to direct I went for it.
As lately I've been testing out with audiobooks, I decided to try this one out.
Unfortunatelly this one didn't do the trick for me.
The story is indeed great (I had to buy to physical copy in order to finish it) but Hope Davis' choices in her interpretations, in my point of view, fell flat.
She's a great actress, especially fantastic in "The Special Relationship", but this definitely didn't cut it for me.
Maybe if she narrates Hillary Clinton in her book, I'll try it again.

Historia
Meet Samuel: stalled writer, bored teacher at a local college, obsessive player of online video games. He hasn't seen his mother, Faye, in decades, not since she abandoned her family when he was a boy. Now she has suddenly reappeared, having committed an absurd politically motivated crime that electrifies the nightly news, beguiles the Internet, and inflames a divided America. The media paints Faye as a radical hippie with a sordid past, but as far as Samuel knows, his mother was an ordinary girl who married her high school sweetheart.

The Nix comes alive with outstanding narration
Revisado: 09-13-17
I was pleasantly surprised by the interpretation of Ari Fliakos for the incredibly complex novel by Nathan Hill.
He managed to separate each character in such a distinctive manner, I was never confused - which would be easy in an audiobook with over 20 hours of duration - and was in constant awe.
I highly recommend this novel/audiobook for anyone interested in politics, entertainment and broken relationships - it does draw some pretty realistic parallels to the current political scene in the United States.
A fantastic debut indeed from Mr. Hill.
And I'm definitely checking out other books narrated by Mr. Fliakos.
