Historia
Charles Dickens' story of solitary miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is taught the true meaning of Christmas by the three ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, has become one of the timeless classics of English literature. First published in 1843, it introduces us not only to Scrooge himself but also to the memorable characters of underpaid desk clerk Bob Cratchit and his poor family, the poorest amongst whom is the ailing and crippled Tiny Tim.

Historia
On a warm July evening in 1985, a middle-aged man stood on the pavement of a busy avenue in the heart of Moscow, holding a plastic carrier bag. In his grey suit and tie, he looked like any other Soviet citizen. The bag alone was mildly conspicuous, printed with the red logo of Safeway, the British supermarket.

Britain is in the depths of recession. A left-leaning young Oxford academic and his barrister girlfriend take an off-peak holiday on the Caribbean island of Antigua. Seemingly by chance they bump into a Russian millionaire called Dima who owns a peninsula and a diamond-encrusted gold watch. He also has a tattoo on his right thumb, and wants a game of tennis.

Revisado: 02-13-12
What made the experience of listening to Our Kind of Traitor the most enjoyable?
The story in itself, and the author's magnificent reading voice and style.
What other book might you compare Our Kind of Traitor to and why?
Any Daniel Silva novel. First rate, always.
Have you listened to any of John Le Carre’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is the first time.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was impressed and enjoyed every minute of it. No laghter or tears: The genre is not suited to either emotion, but the humour is there,of course!
Any additional comments?
A splendid performance. Worth every penny.

With robust clarity, Hitchens frames the argument for a more secular life based on science and reason, in which Hell is replaced by the Hubble Telescope's awesome view of the universe, and Moses and the burning bush give way to the beauty and symmetry of the double helix. God Is Not Great marvels at the possibility of society without religion.

A brilliant effort on a very difficult subject
Revisado: 01-16-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Time very well spent, but Mr. Hitchens had to fall back on old strategies which are not very sound, like attacking people who have been fundamental in the life of the faith with weak arguments and repetitions many time told. He was a sincere, authentic man, who expressed his opinons with bravery and conviction - something to be respected, always. I do hope he has now seen the light he had so many doubts about.
Would you ever listen to anything by Christopher Hitchens again?
Yes,absolutely!
What does Christopher Hitchens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
HIs voice, his humour and great style
Was God Is Not Great worth the listening time?
Indeed it was.
Any additional comments?
Keep up your great work towards better universal culture!
