Another excellent chapter in this series, but please could the publishers employ a decent editor! I have read all the books and although I have enjoyed them they are just too long. A lot of extraneous details and descriptions could be shortened or just left out. Also the narrator murdering 'Danny Boy' was completely unnecessary and forced me to skip briskly to the next chapter.

This should have been good but it was actually a bit tedius. Two unlikely characters are now mates and are supposed to be getting to know each other. However for every 20 seconds of conversation there is another over the top sex scene. I know that Christine Feehan is all about sensual and sexy romance but this borders on boring rather than sensual.

Expected ending but still worth a listen

Great listen. Lady Diana is in a no win situation. The ton Havel shunned her due to her mothers actions. Her father seems to have totally checked out of life. She has nothing to lose. Her bodyguard hates the upper classes. Yet love wins out. A bit unlikely but still a great listen.

Story is quite good but the narrator lets the book down. Very breathy and excitable. It spoiled the book to be honest.

Great introduction to a new series. Fans of Virgin River should like this. Can't wit for the next book.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really enjoy Therese Plummer and wouldn't hesitate to buy any book narrated by her.

Would you listen to The Newcomer again? Why?

Yes definitely.Lovely book and in time I would revisit it again.

What other book might you compare The Newcomer to and why?

I would compare the whole Thunder Point series to Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't say I prefer her to reading the book but I love listening to any books she has narrated. She is brilliant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Usually I only listen when I am painting or crafting. With this book I wanted to keep on listening.

What disappointed you about Hot Buttered Yum?

To be honest I loved the idea of the book but haven't gotten beyond chapter two.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will never again buy a book with an uncredited narrator. I have been caught out before and foolishly allowed myself to be distracted by the blurb for 'Hot Buttered Rum' and ignored the uncredited narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She was dreadful. No voice tone - no ability to add character to the story. Simply awful.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Hot Buttered Yum?

Can't say - couldn't listen to enough of it to make that decision.

Any additional comments?

Not really only to say that commercially produced audiobooks should give all details - including narrator. If I don;t enjoy an author's books I don't red them - equally if I don't like a narrator, I will avoid listening to those books regardless of author.

Where does The Hero rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like the fact that the love hero is flawed like everyone but have to say that there was more than one hero in this book.

What did you like best about this story?

How even at the end people rose above themselves to save the day.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the heroine said 'I'll do this only once'.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love wins out.

This whole series of books is excellent and the writing is enhanced by the wonderful narrator. If only all authors and publishers picked as well.
