To many details and conversations allegedly remembered. Many details seem to differ wildly from other NDE I have read about. Other reviewers are questioning his alleged accident where he had the NDE. Wish I had done more research before I purchased this book without a Audible credit, so I cannot get a refund.

Merit, excellence & intelligence should replace the DEI that was touched on in the book. A lot of great suggestions for preparing for an interview and follow up. Definitely worth the read time, you will get some good tips that should help.

Much more than a BJJ story.

I didn't know a lot about Rickson, other than his amazing fight career and what I have heard from BJJ Professors. His life out of the ring seems harder than in the ring. Great book whether you are a BJJ practitioner or not.

Would have been better without political views.

I agree with many of the suggestions, some common sense, that the author covers. Does a good job of pointing out how successful management works & communicates together with everyone in the company. Sprinkles in political views a little too much. Takes Ronald Reagan to task for firing air traffic controllers in 1981, do not believe he mentioned they were striking illegally and given fair warning. Of course 11,000 + air traffic controllers losing their jobs is a absolutely terrible result, so is stopping air travel and a decent amount of commerce. Would have given a better rating had author steered clear of political views.

Hard book to stop listening to, recommend to any Van Halen fan.

Did good job of interviewing all band members, very thorough. Lot of internal band and instrument details I was unaware of. An inspiring musician & band, great book.

Burns & McDonnell's ESOP

There are definitely chapters with good information. Wish it had more info on forming and managing ESOPs and less on Burns & McDonnell and some political views. B&M sounds like a wonderful company with a great ESOP plan. The author shares a lot of good advise with his years of experience managing a large successful company.

Superbly Written and Narrated

After 114 books from Audible, this is my first review that I felt compelled to write, yes it is that good. Best narrated book I have listened to yet, you will often forget it is only one person reading this story. Characters are distinctive & memorable, GrandDaddy's nuggets of wisdom throughout the story are golden. A beautiful story which has you rooting for young Mickey to jump through the portholes of opportunities presented down his life's path. A truly unforgettable novel.
