Historia
The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now best-selling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett.

The Rest of the Story

I absolutely loved this book! For so many years after I first read Gone With The Wind, I used to wish for a different ending because it just didn’t seem right that Rhett and Scarlett wouldn’t be together. Alexandra Ridley did an excellent job of bringing it to a new conclusion with an excellent story to boot! Bravo to Ms. Ridley and to the narrator who made the story come alive!

Timeless Masterpiece
Revisado: 01-11-24
I have read this novel and seen the movie made from it more than a dozen times each. Margaret Mitchell was an incredible storyteller. She captured the very essence of each character so completely it was like you really knew them on a personal level. Just genius! I wish she had written the sequel to it because I’m sure it would have been spectacular! Definitely worth your time!

Historia
Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

This is a wonderful story! So many characters sometimes it’s hard to keep them all straight but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator was excellent in his depiction of the separate characters which I am sure was hard to do since there were so many. This book definitely transports you to a different time and place but amazingly, the characters and their foibles and traits are very much in evidence today.
