Very predictable plot. Figured it out early on.
Don't waste your time. The characters are not likeable at all.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Quick Listen
Revisado: 05-05-20
This was entertaining. I like vampire stories.
I wish the performance was done a little better. It was little breathy and I was tired of dealing with the volume as some bits were quiet and some were much too loud.
The story was good. It was a typical vampire story, so it was predictable it wasn't really "scary" either, but I enjoyed that this was a quick listen. Like I stated above it was entertaining.

Historia
Iseult Wince is a Victorian woman perilously close to spinsterhood whose distinctly unpleasant father is trying to marry her off. She is awkward, plain, and most pertinently, believes that her mother, who died in childbirth, lives in the scar on her neck. Iseult’s father parades a host of unsuitable candidates before her, the majority of whom Iseult wastes no time frightening away. When at last her father finds a suitor desperate enough to take Iseult off his hands - a man whose medical treatments have turned his skin silver - a true comedy of errors ensues.

Harsh much?
Revisado: 05-05-20
This book is slow. Very slow.
Is it high on my recommend list? No, no it's not.
The main character is a sad girl, who can't catch a break, and really nothing happens through the entire book.
I wasn't a fan of the reader, she did some really weird voices, most of the sounded awkward to me, and I didn't enjoy it.
In general if you like slow, going nowhere stories, then this is the one for you, but if you need a little more plot then don't get this book.
I only finished it, because I wanted to know what more could this author put her character through.

Historia
The day Lacey Sturm planned to kill herself was the day her grandmother forced her to go to church, a place Lacey thought was filled with hypocrites, fakers, and simpletons. The screaming match she had with her grandmother was the reason she went to church. What she found there was the reason she is alive today. With raw vulnerability, this hard-rock princess tells her own story of physical abuse, drug use, suicide attempts, and her ultimate salvation.

Lacey Strum has an amazing story. I feel like this is a story everyone needs to hear. This was a good read... err listen. It was a book I needed to hear at the right time. Many life lessons, and is an amazing testimony.

I couldn't put it down.
Revisado: 04-03-20
I 100% enjoyed this story. It took me into another world that is vastly opposite from mine. It was a darker escape and a chance to experience something different for once.
I wanted to hug both Emilie and Emily through the entire novel. I just finished the book and I am about to restart it, because I was hooked. This is a world that is so dark and creepy, but it also has it's light and joy from the emotions of all the characters. I wish it was longer, and I wish there was more.
I love and adore EA's voice so I highly enjoyed her reading this book.
