Historia
The Chicago Tribune has dubbed Elmore Leonard, “the coolest, hottest writer in America.” In the same league as the legendary great ones—John D. MacDonald, Dashiell Hammett, James M. Cain—Leonard demonstrates his remarkable mastery with Get Shorty, one of the most adored of his forty-plus novels. The basis of the hit movie starring John Travolta and Danny DeVito, Get Shorty chronicles the over-the-top, sometimes violent Hollywood misadventures of a Florida mob loan shark who chases a deadbeat client all the way to Tinseltown and decides to stick around and make movies.

Elmore Leonard is the GOAT
Revisado: 04-18-25
The character development is artistic. The whole thing is so tightly written. It is pure genius.

Historia
Dr. Jonathan Reisman - a physician, adventure traveler, and naturalist - brings listeners on an odyssey, navigating our insides like an explorer discovering a new world. With unique insight, Reisman shows us how understanding mountain watersheds helps to diagnose heart attacks, how the body is made mostly of mucus, not water, and how urine carries within it a tale of humanity’s origins.

Fascinating perspective
Revisado: 01-17-22
This author has a fascinating perspective of the human body. I liked this book so much I got my retired nurse mother a hard cope for Christmas and recommended it it to my nursing student daughter.

So in lightning!
Revisado: 11-05-21
I read this book when it was pretty new, so over 20 years ago. So many of the concepts stuck with me that I just re-“read” it And felt like I got even more out of it than I did the first time. The authors ability to explain complex and rather abstract theories in the simplest terms illustrates just how brilliant he is. This might be my favorite non-fiction book I’ve never read.
