The author writes a story that our younger population is completely out of touch with and in my opinion, should be part of their reading program while young enough to understand and accept all of the challenges people faced then and today.

Love this author

Dee MacDonald has this wonderful, almost mystical ability to write about people and families that just makes me sit back in reverence. I come from a large family, so am familiar with a lot of the stories and experiences. She gives me a way to look back and remember the fun along with the unexpected, unhappy memories.

This is a great series

I have never before listened to any books from Robyn Peterson and her books are terrific. The characters are funny, they’re real, and the people that she uses are articulate. The only thing that in my opinion, is not needed are the specific sex scenes. Peterson is an accomplished enough writer not to need these.

Difficult truths story to hear

For me this was a difficult book to listen. The world I grew up in was so completely different than the world of Demon Copperhead. Barbara Kingsolver skill at setting the stories for her books is incredible. She does not protect herself and tells her stories in the truths she finds. It was a difficult story to hear.

Miranda James

I am not an author so my review is just about the story. I really enjoy reading about Charlie Harris and his cat Diesel - Miranda James has a fun sense of humor and a very real understanding about people. This book is a great read - perfect for vacations, reading in front of the fireplace and/or just sitting anywhere to read and enjoy.

Julie Chase is a great!

I really enjoyed Julia Chase’s fresh voice. She makes her characters come alive and the narrator she chose was perfect, she added just the right touch to bring out Ms Chase’s delicious humor. Often I laughed out loud.I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and so often authors just repeat everything as if it’s a template and they’re just plugging in new words. This is not the case with Julia Chase, her characters are people I’d love to meet, her stories are believable and come alive with the telling. I look forward to recommending this author.😊👍🏽

Reader is disappointing

This book is interesting, the historical information is fascinating, however Nike Jonas’ narration of this book is so mono syllabic it ruins any excitement. Why on earth he chose to read this book in this manner is beyond understanding. Hopefully it is rereleased with a narrator who knows how to bring about the excitement of baseball to the story.
