Love the stories but the narration....

I absolutely LOVE these series! Sucks you in immediately but....you are better off just reading them. The narrator is just AWFUL!! Her fake southern accent is annoying as all hell and she mispronounces words more than normal, from people's names, to the simplest words and phrases! Its honestly embarrassing. Did someone not listen to the series before approving?? Come one!! Someone who's better narrating needs to redo these and they'd be phenomenal!

I just do not like the narrator

With a story like the sookie stackhouse novels you'd expect to have one hell of a narrator but...nope. Her "southern" accent is awful and sounds ridiculous, she draws it on too thick and it sounds super fake. Her "sexy" male voice is historical. I've stopped this audiobook several times and picked up the book because I couldn't stand her. It's a shame she ruined the story. These books are some of the best I've ever read and continue strong until about the 9th book then start to go down hill a little, in my opinion.

great book

I immediately fell for this book. I've been in such a book rut lately, audio and reading, that this was such a nice surprise. The narrator was a bit nasally at first but it seemed like it got better with the books progression. Definitely will be listening to the next.

I really enjoyed this book. Gertie Cant help but find trouble. I've always enjoyed time travel books so I was eager to read this. My only complaint is the narrarotor. I'm not fond of her reading sometimes. Her voice for men all sound the same so you never can tell who it is until she says the name. All in all this was a good one and I can't wait for the next!

i wasn't impressed by the narrator

It wasn't a bad book but i think it could have been better. Definitely wasn't worth the $11 price tag. The author could have really went somewhere with this and made it an outstanding read. Like i said it wasn't bad and even good in some sense. Now, the narrator. She ruined it. I wanted to strangle her half the time. I literally stopped listening and started reading it for awhile because the accent for Gertie kind of cometely sucked. I could barely understand her at times and she had one tone for her the entire time, so you couldn't tell the difference when Gertie was happy or mad, horney etc. It was just annoying all around. Some of the other voices she did were ok and some pretty good but the mens voices were GOD AWFUL. She used the same voice, same tone, they all sounded the same so you never knew if it was Brad, Randy, Vasili, or the viking speaking. She could have switched it up and the voice she used just wasnt good. Hard pass on the audible but reading it yourself would be the way i go if i choose to read the next installment.
