Interesting and strangely timely

2023. I’m listening to this book for the second time. The first time I listen to it was around 2008 I believe.
The times that we’re living in we’re trans gender LGBTQ plus peoples safety and rights are being threatened on a daily basis. This book took on an even higher level of may need an emotion for me.
I felt it was brilliant !
Becoming attached to the main character was easy after having a very old world Greek stepmother, I could strongly identify with the character, his family and the immigrate experience. I would highly recommend this to an open minded person. It feels like a story filled with hope.
To a close minded person, perhaps education and empathy
