Historia
Someone has tried to kill the French president. How many snipers can shoot from three-quarters of a mile with total confidence? John Kott—a U.S. Army marksman gone bad—is one of them. After fifteen years in prison, he’s out . . . and there’s a G8 summit coming up, packed with enough world leaders to tempt any assassin.

Nothing fancy
Revisado: 09-15-21
Uninteresting tale with flat characters. The British accents were uniformly similar. I will check the ratings more carefully before blindly listening to the next book in order.

Historia
In Broken Ground, cold-case Detective Karen Pirie faces her hardest challenge yet. Six feet under in a Highland peat bog lies Alice Somerville’s inheritance, buried by her grandfather at the end of World War II. But when Alice finally uncovers it, she finds an unwanted surprise - a body with a bullet hole between the eyes. Meanwhile, DCI Pirie is called in to unravel a case where nothing is quite as it seems. And as she gets closer to the truth, it becomes clear that not everyone shares her desire for justice. Or even the idea of what justice is.

Gritty and satisfying
Revisado: 06-18-21
Only this author can make a paper trail intense! I enjoyed the pace, the performance, and most of all, the detective work. The tidying of loose ends was satisfying, and I love her accuracy of Detroit haunts.

thriller with a nightmare scenario: a parent who loses her child in a bustling international airport. Young Jimmy Higgins is snatched from an airport security checkpoint while his guardian watches helplessly from the glass inspection box. But this is no ordinary abduction, as Jimmy is no ordinary child. His mother was Scarlett, a reality TV star who, dying of cancer and alienated from her unreliable family, entrusted the boy to the person she believed best able to give him a happy, stable life: her ghost writer, Stephanie Harker.

Suddenly characters disappeared without explanation, I was rewinding to find where they went! No answers, no future. why develop these characters so thoroughly just to have them evaporate?

Exactly like the first two books
Revisado: 01-02-20
No different from the first two books except for secret staircases and passageways; just another desolate manor far from help with crabby relatives that are happy to see each other murdered.

Just because you add a southern accent it isn't enough to make a new character. Mooner sounds like Zook. The stalker sounds like Albert Kloughn. This is my least favorite of the Plumb books.

Historia
Stephanie Plum may not be the best bounty hunter in beautiful downtown Trenton, but she's pretty darn good at turning bad situations her way . . . and she always gets her man. In To the Nines, her cousin Vinnie (who's also her boss) has posted bail on Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant. When the elusive Mr. Singh goes missing, Stephanie is on the case. But what she uncovers is far more sinister than anyone imagines and leads to a group of killers who give new meaning to the word hunter.
