Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Historia
Henry never realized he was special. Sure, he’s an engineer who served his country, but when the virus hit, he found himself alone in a nearly empty world. That’s the key, though: nearly empty. There’s no one left who has the technical know-how to make the world run again...except for Henry. For humanity to survive, he will have to rebuild society out of the motley crew of survivors. It might be impossible, but at the same time, Henry has always loved a challenge.

a teenagers idea of the end of civilization
Revisado: 10-17-22
so i this terrible peace of literary work, we find a guy that cant think farther than his man hood. to make matters worse he is a die-hard Dodge truck fan that sells out to a Chevy in the end. what a trader. And he call himself a mechanic, why pick a truck that need a computer to run it in a world with no power or technology. Also he says he is a mechanical engineer, yet he doesn't have the first clue of how electricity works. And finally there are writers who can write about guys picking up beautiful women in the apocalypse but this writer is not one of them. A cheerleader still in her cheerleader outfit, REALLY!!!All most every woman he runs in to just cant weight to get in the sack with him. This idea would be ok if i was looking for a trashy romance novel which i dont have a problem with. but this book falls really short on the sex and dialog. i have listened to erotica with better plots. bottom line i don't know where this book falls, its not good at anything aspect for maybe youger people who have not clue how things work and dont really care to learn. a good old zombie book is more believable than this.

felt like a lesson on Shakespeare
Revisado: 08-18-22
there were a few things in this book that i fond enlightening but most of it was confusing and i am not sure but i think there was other books that needed to be read first. the Shakespeare stuff is really hard to understand if you don't understand Shakespeare. and if you did understand Shakespeare this book would probably be too elementary. it is worth a lesson but not a keeper

Revisado: 11-09-21
the book starts out ok but goes down hill fast. the idea of a water shortage was great but the main caricature was hard to figure out. i couldn't tell if he was a real bad ass or just a guy that got lucky a lot. and his wife is real bad she wines there the whole book. for the price it kept me listening.

i am a little confused
Revisado: 09-20-21
overall the book was good and well written but i think the author uses to much sarcasm. to the point that it is hard to tell if he is joking or serious. i got this book to learn more about my faith and it seems to have left me with more questions. in some ways i almost could say the book dose not faver one side or the other. it simply tell it like it is and the listener has to make there own conclusions. i would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning how things are done today versus how they were done back then. i my opinion neither then or now is very good because nether have a very good way of addressing the real problems people go there when trying to understand there faith. good luck and i how the next person who listens can find what they are looking for.

just another one of those predictable storys
Revisado: 07-05-21
boy is on a business trip and gril is surviving with that kids and doing way better. it is all very PG, no bad language, no really uncomfortable situations. no real interest in firearms, no big emotional build up, and way to many side stories that dont fit. i am sorry but there is no apocalyptic here just a lot of bad weather that is not to bad because a bunch of yuppies seam to have no problem moving around in a Subaru. And its another one of those you have to be super wealthy to prepare. the narrator does a decent job but its hard to judge when he has to read sub-par work. lesson at your own risk but don't expect to much.

unrealistic as it get but had potential
Revisado: 06-07-21
I did get to the end but it was a struggle. the narrator is ok but not for this book. the store really could be something but leaves out a lot of real life changes that i think the whole country would face in this scenario. the United States is bigger then the eastern sea board just saying. the store line lacks real meat its another good guy always win. there are a lot of good historical references. No one is a loud to drink unless they are with the guy who runs the place and then you are only allowed one haha. And it is another doomsday book were the prepars have a lot of money. just one i want to find a book where the hero is a normal person with no money and figures out how to make it though there own knowledge and whit. also there where many weapon mistakes. like calling a shotgun a rifle. nothing more disappointing than someone saying they know how to write about weapons and then getting all the names wrong. and then for people who have a ton of money to go shopping at Walmart and big lots. i mean come on you have all the money you need and you buy sub par equipment. And the talk about the dogs is way to much. best way to listen to this book is to get the whole set because i would never have purchased the next book in this set much less all of them individually. good luck and listen at your own risk.
