too much acting and sound effects. just wanted the story. one narrator one voice. the story is odd too, sounds like it was taken from other Famous titles such as Frankenstein, S. King, D. Koontz, but meshed together in a weird way.

this is a great example of outstanding story telling. its lost now in our ridiculousl city living and our obsession with instant everything. reminds me of the good stories told next to a hot camp fire on a cold night after a gard day with good family and friends. 100% good read/listen.

big fan of the original series but, leave it alone already. it's almost bad enough to watch the new tv episodes and to try to listen to these new episodes on audio is gut wrenchingly silly. stop bring back dead characters over and over again. if the "lone gun men" are dead then they are dead. if the "cancer man" has been killing two times in massive ways then he is dead. if mulder's parents are dead then they are dead. now if the series continues then use real and current events like Epstein there is plenty of DC crap floating around to make the series relevant again as it was in the 90s. this series needs to get out of Hollywoods Gutter!

Reading is better than listening to a book.
What did you like best about this story?
The book is not about football. Yes it is centered around a high school team, but it's much deeper than that.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me pause and reflect on all of the teams that I have been on/part of, it makes you think about your whole life. Its a very power full insight in to young humans, and a powerful coach.
Any additional comments?
Please read, don't be distracted by the cover (that's a good metaphor for the high school), I can only wish that our public schools would take note... not about the sports programs but how to care for young kids!
