Historia
With the imagery of a poet and the reflection of a philosopher, David Whyte turns his attention to 52 ordinary words, each its own particular doorway into the underlying currents of human life. Beginning with "Alone" and closing with "Work", each chapter is a meditation on meaning and context, an invitation to shift and broaden our perspectives on the inevitable vicissitudes of life: pain and joy, honesty and anger, confession and vulnerability, the experience of feeling besieged and the desire to run away from it all.

The magical combination of truth, storytelling and art
Revisado: 09-27-20
It’s hard to describe how beautiful, profound and loving David Whyte’s words are. If his work resonates, you’ll love this. If you don’t know his work yet, starting here is a great way to get to know his way of telling the truth. I loved the format of this book and plan to return to it often. Mr. Whyte’s words work a deep magic in my heart and this book was no exception.

One of the most beautiful books I’ve experienced
Revisado: 08-17-20
Deep wisdom with a gentle approach. His voice is one of the great storytellers of our time. And his profound insights told with such generous vulnerability are what make this book so special to me. I’ll be listening again soon and am sure to hear more and understand more each time I do. Thank you David Whyte. What a blessing you are to the world.

Historia
When Catherine Morland, a country clergyman's daughter, is invited to spend a season in Bath with the fashionable high society, little does she imagine the delights and perils that await her. Captivated and disconcerted by what she finds, and introduced to the joys of "Gothic novels" by her new friend, Isabella, Catherine longs for mystery and romance. When she is invited to stay with the beguiling Henry Tilney and his family at Northanger Abbey, she expects mystery and intrigue at every turn.

A funny book read by a comedic master.
Revisado: 06-22-16
I loved this reading by Juliet Stevenson. She is such a master of storytelling through voice and to pair her understanding of human quirks with Jane Austen's is a perfection.

Historia
War and Peace is one of the greatest monuments in world literature. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, it examines the relationship between the individual and the relentless march of history. Here are the universal themes of love and hate, ambition and despair, youth and age, expressed with a swirling vitality which makes the book as accessible today as it was when it was first published in 1869.

Wonderful narration
Revisado: 11-19-15
Worth the price or credit as this narrator is an absolute pro. He expresses emotion so well and the humor of Tolstoy really comes through. I can't wait to hear the second half.
