Yes the description said it was reimagining of a Penny Reid... I should have known better. I just miss Green Valley when I've run out of books... no more Moonlight Valley for me. If instead of renaming the characters and changing things just enough that it's NOT Penny's people, they'd spun it with the real Penny characters, in the super natural untold secret story ala Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ~ maybe.

The only reason I didn't ask for a refund is Chris Brinkley and Joy Nash - LOVE THEM. But even they couldn't get me all the way through this book.

The snarky sister has her moment!

I am still loving this series. Violet is probably my favorite of the sisters - I just love her sass. A great supernatural sibling series and while the books would stand alone just fine, I would encourage you to start at the beginning because the author does a terrific job building the reader's understanding as you go through the books. Lots of interconnected family story lines.

If you like spicy love scenes and real world super naturals, you'll probably love this series!

Still loving this series

I'm a sucker for a sibling series, especially when there is a super natural theme. The sisters are fun and quirky and really likeable - even Isadora who I least connected with; I still wanted everything to work out for her. The missing girl mystery going on in this novel was probably my least favorite element, but it did allow for the introduction of some important people and concepts for the later books. If you find yourself a bit annoyed by that part, keep reading because the nuggets you'll glean for later are worth it.

If you don't mind some spicy love scenes, and you love all things super natural, this series might be for you.

An okay listen

I'm a Penny Reid fan, but what I've come to realize is that her miles of endless challenges are sometimes a bit off putting. I love these characters and it is worth getting to know them - I just think we could have gotten there a little sooner. It's a worthwhile listen, but had I bought the physical book I never would have finished it.

I'm always in when Chris Brinkley is narrating, but this story was also really sweet. What I particularly like about Nora's writing style is that she doesn't make the reader/listener suffer through a mile of impossible challenges before the couple gets to their real shot at happiness. This is a believable story, the characters are likeable fallible humans that I want to cheer for.

Don't you hate it when the 2nd book snags the HEA?

The first book was likable and I was glad there was a continuation of their story. I want to root for this couple so I was disappointed at the hints in the epilogue that they will have a rocky road to their HEA beyond this book...

I enjoyed this book but I have to say that the change in narrator from the first two books completely threw me for the first half of the story. This narrator did a great job was just so drastically different than that of the first and second books I almost didn't recognize this character.

A sweet story. Background sadness for some of the lead characters but thankfully no earth shattering dramatic deal breaker. I'll definitely listen to the other stories in the series.
