What did you love best about The Steady Running of the Hour?

For me, this book came out of nowhere; I'd never heard of it or the author.
It turned into a most excellent surprise.
Exquisitely written and read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Steady Running of the Hour?

The relational observations of a female character with about 40 minutes left in the audiobook.

Which character – as performed by Steve West – was your favorite?

ALL of them. Incredibly talented reader.

What made the experience of listening to The Stand the most enjoyable?

The ability to connect with the story at times and in places when reading would not have been possible. I began reading this book in the 80's (before SK added over 400 pages back into it), and never finished.Grover Gardner's interpretation of the character and story line was first rate!

What did you like best about this story?

I had listened to Earth Abides a few months earlier, and discovered that it was an inspiration to this book by S.K. This is an excellent extrapolation..A Variation on a Theme.

What does Grover Gardner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Incredible delineiation of characters and storyline.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me think and feel...sometimes evoking some fairly uncomfortable feelings, but it was never meant to be a fairy tale!

Bravo. This presentation enabled me to start (again) and finally finish something that I have always wanted to.

great blend of excellent story and wonderful reading

the villain, Hugh Meacham...although fictitious, he represents the perfect missing puzzle piece to a historical mystery.

the final scene.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

many!

the writer and reader both surprised me with how they kept taking the story and performance to another level. Although a fiction, this may have been the most plausible explanation yet for the unanswered questions regarding the event.

What made the experience of listening to At the Mountains of Madness [Blackstone Edition] the most enjoyable?

I especially enjoyed Lovecrafts use of the English language, and Mr.Herrman's outstanding read.

Like many Poe stories.

The narrator

The narrator. He was an eyewitness to something he hoped no humans would ever see again..while he was reporting events objectively, he was also trying to convey a dire warning.
