The narrator has a lovely voice and it was very soothing in tone, but the narration itself was choppy and halting in places, to the point I had to rewind several times to be sure it hadn't just skipped.
The story was rough and not very believable. The language ran the gamut from overly formal, to crass and back again within the same conversations. The "mystery" was really not a mystery at all, though there was 1 unexpected plot twist. That twist, however, quickly fell flat. Then, the way the twist was "resolved" was beyond disappointing and made no sense. Overall, I won't be listening again, nor recommending this book.

I decided to pre listen to this before I let my young teens listen as they can be quite sensitive to spiritual warfare and depiction thereof. Even as an adult, I enjoyed this audio book and I always love it when authors read there own works because it gives the truest sense of the characters. I can't wait to listen to the next one.

I loved these books as a kid...

and now I am loving re-living them with my kids! I have been reading the series to my kids, but wound up getting a wisdom tooth pulled half way through this one. We were all eager to finish and nobody wanted to wait until I could talk properly so we decided to come on here and get it. We all enjoyed Mr Peretti reading it to us and I feel it was money well spent. Now, my mouth is still sore, so I am off to find The Legend of Annie Murphy. 😉

All sex, no story

I should have read reviews before purchasing but it has been dreadfully long since I was able to "read" for pleasure and I am afraid I jumped into this audio book with both feet. The premise was cute and the story could have been wonderful had it been a little more developed and less dependant on sex to prop the whole thing up. Unfortunately, I prefer a book that can stand on its own two feet, but this one makes its living on its back, as it were. If you enjoy cute but very superficial story, and a LOT of detailed, steamy sex, this is a great book for you. The narrator has a lovely voice and did a good job with the various voices/characters. Sadly, I was disappointed enough in this book that I have returned it and am off to find a title to better suit my taste.

A delight for the whole family

I grew up on the Cooper Kids Adventures and couldn't wait to share them with my kids. When my kids turn 8, I pull out the series and read them out loud as we go through the adventures together. My kids all loved the series as much as I do so we were excited to find the audio books so they can listen to them on their mp3 players while they do other things. I loved reading these stories to them for the first time, but this is so much easier on my vocal chords.
