Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Historia
In the war-ravaged borderlands of Ukraine, a Russian mercenary unit has gone rogue. Its members, conscripted from the worst prisons and mental asylums across Russia, are the most criminally violent, psychologically dangerous combatants to ever set foot upon the modern battlefield. With all attention focused on the frontlines, they have pushed deeper into the interior to wage a campaign of unspeakable barbarity. As they move from village to village, committing horrific war crimes, they meet little resistance as all able-bodied men are off fighting the war.

I have enjoyed the series, until the turn in narrative became the have and the have nots. The word privileged popped up far too much for me to enjoy the rest of the series. This will be my last Rowe novel.

Historia
Demonstrating once again her gift for spellbinding storytelling, Anne Rice makes real for us a great dynasty of four centuries of witches - a family given to poetry and incest, murder and philosophy, a family that over the ages is itself haunted by a powerful, dangerous, and seductive being called Lasher who haunts the Mayfair women. Moving in time from today's New Orleans and San Francisco to long-ago Amsterdam and the France of Louis XIV, from the coffee plantations of Port-au-Prince to Civil War New Orleans and back to today, Anne Rice has spun a mesmerizing tale.

Rape inspired intimacy - not my thing
Revisado: 02-14-23
The first several hours were enjoyable than somewhere along the line. It got into a historical novel in nature, and poured me to tears. I skipped 15 to 20 hours of this book because I couldn’t get into the characters historically . The graphic nature of the sex scenes and intimacy are horrible, so I just couldn’t continue.

Historia
Stephen A. Smith has never been handed anything, nor was he an overnight success. Growing up poor in Queens, the son of Caribbean immigrants and the youngest of six children, he was a sports-obsessed kid who faced struggles, from undiagnosed dyslexia to getting enough cereal to fill his bowl. As a basketball player at Winston-Salem State University, he got a glimmer of his true calling when he wrote a newspaper column arguing for the retirement of his own Hall of Fame coach, Clarence Gaines.

Self aggrandizement on steroids

Waste of a credit. His story is interesting. However 50% of the novel is name dropping and claiming how awesome he is. So like first take, just about his life. Best part is his respect for his mom.

When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS’s top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America’s power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails. The Agency is still trying to determine what went wrong when ISIS operatives help this cyber terrorist do what he said he could — plunge the country into darkness. With no concept of how this unprecedented act was accomplished, the task of getting the power back on could take months. Perhaps even years.

Typical , but not clever almost boilerplate
Revisado: 12-09-22
I have been craving another Mitch Rapp novel for sometime. I love this one up and get into it starting to seem promising, but as it went on, I found myself tuning out, fading away, and having to rewind because I was not engaged. Find story, probably better out there. I usually love the narrator, but I think the voices were a bit mixed on this one in halfway on some of the character isolation
