Ice Cold
Revisado: 04-28-05
I know that my politics differ from Fleicher but I thought I would enjoy the close up view of the President in action. Most of the book was complaining about bias of the press. It was not worth the listen!

Historia
The Last of the Mohicans has all the elements of a classic frontier adventure: massacres and raids, innocent settlers, hardened soldiers, renegade Indians, and a doomed love affair. It is a memorable portrait of fierce individualism and moral courage. But what draws readers and listeners again and again to this panoramic novel is its deep insight into the symbols of American consciousness.

See the movie
Revisado: 12-25-03
I missed reading Cooper when I was in school, so I thought I would give him a try on audio. What drivel! His prose makes Faulkner?s seem short and concise. For the historic American novel I will stick to Irving and Hawthorne. P.S. The movie was great.

Buyer beware!
Revisado: 12-25-03
The story line is very interesting and kept me on edge. I couldn?t imagine how the different pieces would come together. Well guess what they don?t! The ending is just awful.

The Great American Aristocracy
Revisado: 03-03-03
I have never found Gore Vidal easy to read, but I do get a lot from his books. Listening wasn't much easier. There is a great deal of valuable information in this book and I am glad I stuck with it. He gives a great view of the Great American Aristocracy that came to an end with WWII.

Historia
The first volume of the Liberation Trilogy, An Army at Dawn is history of the highest order - brilliantly researched, rich with new material and surprising insights, the deeply human story of a monumental battle for the future of civilization. "An absolute masterpiece," says Andrew Carroll, author of War Letters, "This book is storytelling - and history - at its most riveting."

Disappointing but Informative
Revisado: 03-03-03
I wanted very badly to like this book. It's a part of WWII I would like to know more of. Unfortunately the book left me feeling flat. There was no passion. Even the battle descriptions were lacking. There is a lot of good information, but you really have to struggle to stay involved.

Historia
The office of the public defender is not known as a training ground for bright young litigators. Clay Carter has been there too long and, like most of his colleagues, dreams of a better job in a real firm. When he reluctantly takes the case of a young man charged with a random street killing, he assumes it is just another of the many senseless murders that hit DC every week. As he digs into the background of his client, Clay stumbles on a conspiracy too horrible to believe.

The Great American Novel
Revisado: 03-03-03
When I pick up a Grisham novel I don't expect it to be the "Great American Novel". Like all of his books this one has a good story line, moves fast and is a good diversion.

Historia
Stephen King's first full-length solo novel since Dreamcatcher, the long-awaited From a Buick 8 is "nearly flawless and one terrific entertainment," says Publishers Weekly. A strange car acts as a conduit between our world and some other...and the boogeyman of this creepy story is our collective fascination with deadly things.

A different King story.
Revisado: 01-23-03
This is not the classic Steven King horror action story but it has great characters. I think that the narration style is one of the best I have heard. The story is told by several different characters and therefore narrated by several different actors. This makes the story work better than if you read it.
