Smart plot for a cozy.
Revisado: 02-09-25
Remind me of Midsommer Murders. The plot is smart and the main characters are likable. And best of all, “no cheesy romance between the heroin and a handsome cop”. Ugh!
I guessed the villain early on, only because I have read too many books regarding psychopath. The plot is so good that I still get a few surprises toward the end.

As the proud proprietor and head pastry chef of Tea by the Sea, a traditional English tearoom on the picturesque bluffs of Cape Cod, Roberts has her hands full, often literally. But nothing keeps her busier than steering her sassy grandmother, Rose, away from trouble. Rose operates the grand old Victorian B & B adjacent to Lily’s tea shop...for now. An aggressive real estate developer, Jack Ford, is pushing hard to rezone nearby land, with an eye toward building a sprawling golf resort, which would drive Rose and Lily out of business.

Meh
Revisado: 02-05-25
Mediocre and the usually nosiness, nothing special. The Grandmother, Rose, supposed to be a strong character, but she comes across as a “full of her self and treat everyone as her servants”. I want to put a piece of tape over her mouth just to stop her from talking. Don’t waste your time and money.

Revisado: 01-24-25
Kind of story that you listed to one, you listened to them all. Different town, different people, but all the same. Nothing original or special. Woman got dumped (probably for being nosy), moved to a new town and opened a shop, solved a crime and of course, end up with the most eligible bachelor. So predictable and cheesy. Don’t waste your time and money

The story plot is smart and better than most cozy. Nosy aspect is minimal and justified, no sleazy romance and Oliver the talking dog is so sweet and wonderful. Narration is very good as well!

5 stars narrator and 1 star story line!
Revisado: 11-04-24
Too many wrongs with this story. 1. She almost got her brother and herself killed because of her nosiness and no one said a word about her actions and the consequences. 2. Who goes around and kills people because of bad reviews? How many dead people would there be based on Yelp. 3. Absolutely racism against North Korean. 4. Giving up $20,000,000 for the sake of a pig when she stuffed her face with bacon every day.

Too much of “busy body type of protagonist “
Revisado: 09-14-24
My first book in this series, got to chapter 8, find the protagonist Mac too much of a “busy body” who just inserted herself into the investigation because of self-importance. No reason for her to investigate. I get it, most cozy protagonists are busy bodies, but tasteful plots give their protagonists good reasons to insert themselves in the investigation, none here. Just plainly nosy. Narration is so, so. Failed to bring the story to live. Everyone sounds the same.
