Difficult
Revisado: 06-28-23
Story was fine with a few interesting moments, but I don’t enjoy romance media and this book spends too much time on it. Over employment of adjectives. Performance was distracting; looping sound effects of booping and blasting. Several alien voice overs had too much squeaking, cooing, and squealing. I enjoyed the Thrawn voice over.

Historia
Heir to the Empire begins five years after Return of the Jedi. The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet back into a quarter of the territory it once controlled. But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor's warlords have taken command of the remains of the Imperial fleet - and have made two vital discoveries that could destroy the fragile new Republic.

Good, but why waste time creating abridged books?

Misleading

Do not buy this abridged book. I didn’t notice that this was the abridged version and I cannot return all the books in the trilogy I bought.

Decently Done
Revisado: 11-01-21
A good introduction but occasionally tarnished by moralizing, speculation, and poor writing. If you would like an overview of the Achaemenid, Parthian, or Sassanian empires, this book provides a nice overview. The modern era overview received much less attention than the previous Iranian empires. I bought this to learn more about the Qajar and was disappointed. I still learned stuff and didn’t feel it was a wasted credit.

Historia
One of the 20th century's enduring works, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a widely beloved and acclaimed novel known throughout the world and the ultimate achievement in a Nobel Prize-winning career. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. Rich and brilliant, it is a chronicle of life, death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. In the beautiful, ridiculous, and tawdry story of the Buendía family, one sees all of humanity, just as in the history, myths, growth, and decay of Macondo, one sees all of Latin America.

The best book
Revisado: 02-22-21
It touched at the core of all my fears and left me mercilessly defeated by the inescapable terror of loneliness and age. One of the best books ever written. Well read and produced.
