This was so worth the wait! The beginning to another amazing series! I feel like we barely touched the surface of each of the characters and their backgrounds and I’m so ready and excited to learn more about each of them. Each of the guys has their own quirks and personalities and I love the uniqueness of it. They each bring their own thing to the table and we’ll see how they do with Wren. Wren is such a strong FMC and just as she’s starting to spread her wings and be her true self, but obviously something happens that leads this poor girl to wanting to flee again. This story ends on a cliffhanger so beware but it is such an amazing start to the series.

As for the audiobook, the narrators do an absolutely phenomenal bringing each of the characters to life! It’s a full cast audiobook and I absolutely LOVED it!

I really tried to read this slowly and savor it but I still ended up finishing it in 2 days time. Dawn of Embers is the third and final book in the Dragons of Ember Hollow trilogy. It picks up exactly where book 2 leaves off which starts us off with so much action and suspense already.

This was an amazing finale to Hayden and her mates. The character development for not only Hayden but the men too is so well done. The plot that continues throughout the books comes full force in this book with a twist I didn’t see coming. I love the relationships Hayden has built with each of her mates and the ones she finally got to build with certain ones in particular in this book. Knox, Cael, Easton, Cillian, and Maddox each made me angry during some point in the series. I’m happy they all redeemed themselves and had the visible growth throughout.

If there’s one thing about a Tessa Hale book, it’s that the minute I finish I wish I could go back. That being said, I immediately started the ALC when I finished the ARC. I said it once, but I’ll say it again this cast of narrators is AMAZING. I LOVE that each character has their own narrator. The narrators embody the characters and bring the book to life perfectly.

Every time I finish a Tessa Hale trilogy I think “this one is my favorite for sure” and with every new trilogy that changes. Based on that sneak peak at the end, I think it might change again but the Dragons of Ember Hollow will always hold a special place in my heart, my head, and once I get that third book in my hands, on my shelf!

Like I suspected, I loved this book and audio. This may be my top series of Tessa Hale’s so far and it’s not even finished yet. The narrators do an amazing job bringing each character to life. It felt like I was watching a movie and I never wanted it to end. You can hear all of the emotions the characters feel through the narrators’ voices. I truly don’t know how they do it, but this was and continues to be a dream team of narrators.

Midnight of Ashes picks up exactly where Twilight of Embers left off. I loved seeing Easton’s walls slowly crack around him and then him finally accepting that his heart has already chosen Hayden. Thought I’m sure they all wish it didn’t take the events at the end of book 1 to get him to get his head out of his butt. The scenes where Easton shows his love and care for her are perfection.

And then there is Maddox opening up a bit more but still denying himself since she’s a student. Sir, have you never heard or teacher/student romances? But he still is slowly being more open and it was nice to see.

Finally, we have Knox, Cael, and Cillian who have already accepted Hayden as their mate and I loved seeing their relationship build and develop. They had such sweet moments with each other and obviously some spicy moments that were amazing. The connection they are all building together is so beautiful to watch. But naturally, things happen that threaten their happiness together: rival hordes, dragon council, a creepy professor, a bully. There wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t completely engaged and on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen next.

OMG, that cliffhanger ending! I can’t believe you would do that to us! If you are someone who doesn’t enjoy the suspense of a cliffhanger and waiting to find out what happens, I recommend waiting for the series to finish. I, however, enjoy torturing myself with cliffhangers and the suspense from them.

Side note: I need to know what that phrase meant to Bruce about Hayden’s parents. I can’t wait to see that mystery unravel. I know that he realized something and I’m sure it’s going to be a shock.

The first book in Tessa Hale's new Dragons of Ember Hollow series was absolutely amazing. It is a fast-paced paranormal, why choose, academy setting, dragon shifter romance.

It is Hayden's first day attending college when she meets Knox. Knox scents something in Hayden but immediately realizes she has no idea about shifters or mates. He decides to befriend her and becomes protective of her. She begins to meet all of his brothers Easton (his literal brother/twin), Maddox, Cillian, and Cael. As each one meets her, most become immediately protective and struggle to not claim their mate. Of course, we have Easton "Mr. Grumpy Cat" who refuses to give in to the mate bond despite still being protective of her. Maddox is fighting as well but he is a professor of the school and is claiming "professionalism". I am not sure I am fully buying that and I hope to learn more of his story in the coming books.

This story had me hooked from the prologue. The pace of the story, the way each guy has their own distinct personality, Hayden's strength, the world building, the possessiveness and protectiveness all make for such an amazing and entertaining book. In typical Tessa Hale fashion, that cliffhanger left me in my feels and counting down until April.

I read the e-book while listening to the audio as well and LOVED IT. There is a whole cast so each main character has their own narrator for their POV chapters. Vanessa Moyen (Hayden), Teddy Hamilton (Knox), Jacob Morgan (Easton), Joe Arden (Cáel), Jason Clarke (Cillian), Connor Crais (Maddox). A literal dream cast with my favorite narrators!!

I’m so sad this trilogy is over but so happy for their happy ending! Though I was on the edge of my seat the whole book waiting for the happy ever after. Leighton’s character developed so well throughout each book. She got so much stronger (physically and emotionally) and confident in herself and her abilities. There was also so much growth in the guys, especially Trace and the twins. It was great to see them get past their trauma and build a deeper bond with each other and Leighton. Leighton found her family and it was such a thrilling and emotional ride to get to that. Let’s not forget Briar and Baldwin, two of my favorite side characters/animals making the perfect additions to the family.

I was not expecting some of the things that happened in the story, especially from certain people. It made the story that much more gripping and I had to keep reading/listening to see what would happen.

I read while also listening to the audio and Vanessa Moyen knocked it out of the park again. She brought Leighton’s emotions to life. I also love how I can tell the difference between the male characters despite them all being voiced by Vanessa. She does a great job of changing the inflection of her voice enough to give each of Leighton’s men a different sound.

I’m sad to say goodbye to Leighton, Colt, Trace, Dec, Ronan, and Dash but SO excited to read more of the mysterious Cillian. Cillian was a surprise character that I didn’t expect to love but the protective older brother vibes were perfect. I hope to see more of his growing bond with Leighton and her bond mates.

Book 2 of this amazing series gives us more of my favorite broody men: Trace and Ronan. For Trace, we get to see more of his soft side and dive into why he was so standoffish. For Ronan, he and Dec get some much needed closure. Of course this closure leads to more drama outside the Nest. This book has it all. We have: mean girls, vampires, shifters, incubus, and so many secrets and hidden truths revealed.

The story picks up exactly where we left off in Book 1. Like before I was completely captured (no pun intended, sorry Leighton!) and devoured this book the second I was off work! As always, Tessa Hale is the queen of giving us cliffhangers that will leave us desperate for the next book. It’s always worth the wait and this is no different. This series and world have quickly become a favorite and comfort read and listen. I can’t wait for the conclusion.

Vanessa Moyen once again brings these characters to life in my head. I felt like I was watching a movie play out in my head as I listened and I loved it. Vanessa does an amazing job giving each character their own voice and it was easy to differentiate. I can’t wait to listen to the conclusion to this amazing story.

Reese and Gus were perfect for each other. Reese is a dang good sister with maybe some impulse issues. When her brother goes MIA, she decides to go find him herself, in Columbia! Once Gus finds out he sets out to Columbia to go get her and hopefully her brother back in one piece. What seems like a suspiciously easy task, quickly becomes complicated. That doesn’t stop their love from blooming. Gus is amazing, the way he worships Reese and all the sweet things he does. And Reese is my idol, body positive, smart, and a little nerdy! Maxine Mitchell and Teddy Hamilton really brought these characters to life in my head and I thank them for it.

We got Tex cameos and mentions of Baker! I can’t believe even Tex doesn’t know who are mystery hacker/texter is! But I can’t wait for that reveal, I have a feeling it’ll be a good one.

I loved the ending and the mystery it’s created for the next book!

Book one in this series is amazing. We have our main FC leighton and our main MC Colt, Dash, Ronan, and Trace. Colt and Leighton (LeeLee) have history from when they were younger. It seems Colt knows something about Leighton that was kept a secret from her. Leighton was forced to grow up in less than ideal circumstances until Colt came back in her life. From there she meets Ronan, Dash and Trace. Dash is sweet and has a kind heart. Colt is also sweet and has the advantage of history with LeeLee. Ronan and Trace are definitely grumps with Trace taking the lead there. Declan was a surprise I didn’t see coming but a welcome one. Trace might be my favorite though, a grump with overprotective qualities and secretly a teddy bear? *chefs kiss*

Everyone knows something that Leighton doesn’t and she hates feeling like an outsider. But will she regret finding out what the secret is?

Tessa Hale may have given these characters their existence but Vanessa Moyen brought them to life. She did an amazing job conveying each characters personality and did well giving them each their own voice. The audiobook came to life and kept me just as captivated as the ebook. Any spare time I had was popping my AirPods in to listen for even a few minutes. I can’t wait for June for the next in series!

The narrator did an amazing job capturing the essence of Annie. Which was no small thing given how Annie has been a part of the series from the beginning and well loved. This was the long awaited story and Annie and Frankie and I loved hearing it come to life.
