Hilarious!
Revisado: 05-14-21
High Strangeness is a hilarious production. Loads of banter and great characters kept me listening, as well as the overall story. The funny thing is, I didn't dislike any of the characters (the human ones I mean hahah). I wasn't sure if I would like this at all, but I am glad I decided to listen.

One of the home's residents, poor old Archy, becomes Cherringham's latest victim after he loses himself amongst the snow drifts. excellent series
Revisado: 03-30-21
my husband and I have thus far listened to 8 books in this series, and I cannot adequately express how much we are enjoying each and every one.
Jack is easy to love, I believe this is likely due to the excellent job of the narrator, Neil Dudgeon, as well as the writing of the authors. I was elated to find that there are nearly 40 books to hear. Thank you all for your dilligent work and intelligent story telling. There is no smut and no heavy foul language. proof that one doesn't need these things to be entertaining.

Historia
Inspector Treadles, Charlotte Holmes’ friend and collaborator, has been found locked in a room with two dead men, both of whom worked with his wife at the great manufacturing enterprise she has recently inherited. Rumors fly. Had Inspector Treadles killed the men because they had opposed his wife’s initiatives at every turn? Had he killed in a fit of jealous rage because he suspected Mrs. Treadles of harboring deeper feelings for one of the men? To make matters worse, he refuses to speak on his own behalf, despite the overwhelming evidence against him.

Engaging!
Revisado: 11-05-20
I have greatly enjoyed almost every of the books in this series. I do hope that Sherry Thomas intends to continue writing many more books in the future.
I have equally enjoyed how Kate Reading brought the characters to life with her skilled narration of each book. If another book (ahem, or 50 more😏 should come out) I hope that Mrs. Reading will narrate each one.
Thank you all (including the publisher and priducer) for giving me many hours of escape from this world.

Historia
When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

Transcript for Socialism
Revisado: 09-16-20
It was difficult to rate this book. I felt that it was well written, and the narrator was pleasant to hear, but it all boiled down to being like a long, drawnout transcript of an infomercial for socialism.
I can tell you that this book has made it clear to me, that I am an American and am proud to be one. In addition to this, I will cancel any future plans to visit Denmark.
I do agree with a few points made t
in this book though: 1 buying more things does not make one happy. 2 children are not less because they are not as old or experienced as the teacher. And 3 spending more time being close to your family (i.e. eating at the dinner table without electronics) is rewarding and comforting. So, as many times as the author pokes her finger in the chest of America about some of our faults, I am happy to be in this country as one of its citizens.

No likeable characters
Revisado: 08-09-20
It was difficult to finiah listening to this book. The narrator did a good job, however the protagonist was not at all likeavle. She was not.more than a bully and bossy woman. I never felt like she was justified in her "rogue-ish" actions. She was simply a weasel. not a good cop. There was no other character that is likeable either.

unexpected twist.
Revisado: 07-09-19
This was a well told story. I enjoyed trying to figure out who done it, before they told us. I had my mind on one person for a long time, but it was only my gut, there was no evidence at the time I thought about it. I was wrong.
The narrator did a top notch job with the voices. wow! sometimes I couldn't tell it was a woman narrating. super job! I let my son hear some of it and he too was amazed.
In addition to the above, the story was clean. I think there was only one vulgar word, but I can't remember if there was even one. what a refreshing thing that is. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

Good Story
Revisado: 07-05-19
Lucy Pruce-Lewis did a good job narrating this book. There were distinct voices for each character and her pace was nice and even.
The story itself was a bit frustrating for me, but I am sure that is how the Natalue Barelli intended it, so she was successful.
most of the time I was shaking my head because the protagonist didnt seem to learn from her mistakes and kept making more.
