It was a nice change

I really missed the good old days of crime solving with a dash of the paranormal. I liked the story of the detective and the angel/demon worlds. I found the detective an interesting character, he was different then the typical men she writes about.
This was for me a refreshing change, I look forward to the next one.

To much emo Edward

If you are a die hard Edward fan you won’t agree.
I read the leaked stuff years ago and thought this would be an interesting POV. And at first it was. But I realized just how much Edward is so whiny and brooding. It’s to much for the whole book. He has a one track mind, not much consideration for Bella’s input. Also listening to his rages about not being able to control her or things around her is like toxic relationship stuff.
I didn’t like the book because it drags on and on with endless whining. It’s exhausting.

The story goes along, plot is very predictable so the title of it being a “psychological thriller” is laughable. The book leads up to a major event and it just skips past all details and is really vague, it was anti climactic to say the least.

I normally guess the endings of books but this one did surprise me. I really enjoyed the knowledge about elephants and the unexpected plot twist. This was a great read.
