Historia
Thirty-three-year-old Shea Rigsby has spent her entire life in Walker, Texas - a small college town that lives and dies by football, a passion she unabashedly shares. Raised alongside her best friend, Lucy, the daughter of Walker’s legendary head coach, Clive Carr, Shea was too devoted to her hometown team to leave. Instead she stayed in Walker for college, even taking a job in the university athletic department after graduation, where she has remained for more than a decade.

AWFUL
Revisado: 06-25-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
NO ONE!!!!
Has The One & Only turned you off from other books in this genre?
I have loved all other books by Emily Giffin.. I was super excited about this new book. It was truly awful. I tried my best to like it. I listened as long as I possibly could. The main character was immature and her (what I can only describe as disburbing) 'relationship' with her best friends DAD was just a train wreck!!!
What didn’t you like about Sofia Willingham’s performance?
I loved her voice and thought she did a great job for such an awful book.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
NONE.
It was surrounded with a lot of football talk. I was raised in a very prominent football town so I was able to accept that. The rest of the story was ridiculous and just AWFUL. I have no other words.
I hate I wasted a credit.
I have purchased ALL the other books by EGiffin and enjoyed them.

Historia
Jenny Blake has a theory about life: big decisions often don't amount to much, but little decisions sometimes transform everything. Her theory proves true the summer she's 14, when she makes the decision to pick up a penny embedded in asphalt and consequently ends up stopping a robbery, getting a job, and meeting someone who changes her life forever: Miss Shaw.

Very touching story
Revisado: 01-04-12
If you could sum up The Penny in three words, what would they be?
I really enjoyed this book. I can say with confidence that I will never see a penny on the ground and not be reminded of this story.
Loved it.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the characters. Very believable. The struggle with faith and how the tragedy was overcome but not in 'fairytale' fashion
Have you listened to any of Emily Janice Card’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A pennies worth of faith
