(Spoilers ahead) The story takes off in a whirlwind with so many things that should have been researched. The male lead, having just escaped police custody, supposedly has metal jewelry in his body, which wouldn’t have happened realistically. I realize that it’s fiction but some things should be researched more proficiently before being tossed into a book. The story has merit but should have been ironed out and not just been quick smut. There were so many cringy parts to this book that it was honestly hard to finish. After reading this I don’t believe that this author is for me personally.

First off, let me tell you that this book was not like any I've read recently.. I loved Aria Naveed's snark and witty comebacks for everything. When she called him a furball, I spit my drink all over my steering wheel! This book was so enticing from beginning to end and then the ending just leaves you wanting so much more! Being a pyrokinetic sounds both awesome and tiring, but in her line of work, I'm impressed! I didn't trust that one guy (remaining nameless for the sake of spoilers) from the get go! But I really REALLY loved the scene in the gym where things started heating up! I liked that this book wasn't innocent entirely, but it was clean enough for me to be okay listening to it with my 12yr old niece in the car. After read... I mean... listening to book one, I can't wait to get my hands on book two! I adore Nicole Poole's ability to have such a range of voices that all are convincing for the area as well as the genders and characteristics described! I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a mostly clean paranormal read!

Have you listened to any of Kirby Heyborne’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I loved being able to deliver pizzas and listen to Bound By Prophecy. This was the first time I had listened to an audiobook narrated by Kirby.... I thought at the beginning that Kirby was kinda mono-toned... but around chapter three or so, he really picked up and did a GREAT job!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When you find out that Emily was the Chosen one for real and that their mother had set in motion such an elaborate plan!

okay, so while this book was a slow burner.... and it took me a while to get the story to make me enthralled.... after about 15% through it happened.... that pivotal moment where **GASP** and all of a sudden I am LIVING THIS BOOK!! Well, it happened...!! Learning about this amazing world that Melissa Wright has put us all into was AMAZING!! Aern was a bit plain and cut straight a bit too much for me at the beginning but I quickly began liking his story more and more.... and then had to RE-read the fact that he has DRAGONblood?? WOW!! Loved this story and hope to be able to fit book two in the descendants series in my reading schedule asap!!
I give this book 5 out of 5 shields!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Midnight's Lover to be better than the print version?

Can you give a book 10 stars??? Because I want to!!
OH MY GOD!! I hadn't been reading the Dark Warrior Series because other books came up in my review list and I got swamped but I took a break to read this one and AAAhhhhh I am so glad I took time out of my other reviews to read this in between when I had my times because I sooo loved reading Ian's battle... Malcolm's seeming to not even....want.... to come around.. which is sad but I have hope for him. Ian saving Dani was so sweet... He was still fighting but she was brave and strong!! I held my breath through a few scenes in this book so I knew that the ending couldn't come soon enough.. I didn't want it to come because I was loving the story... but I knew that the end of the book would hopefully mean Ian gaining the control he thought he didn't have. I was not happy when Ian was put in the dungeon... I wanted to go to him just as Dani did! Charlie was such an ass!! OMG I sooo wanted Ian to be the one to get to rid the castle of him..! Had a ton of fun learning Danielle's power and how it knew where she needed to be. I love Donna Grant's Happily Ever Afters... just.... sometimes I wish she didn't have so many scares and sincerely OMG moments...***SPOILER*** I was so on the edge of my seat at the end I swear!! I was wishing I knew the chant so I could help them help Saffron!! And then...... BAM!! I was crying and screaming and OOOOoooooohhhh Donna!!!! I love you!!!***SPOILER*** I look forward to reading Midnight's Seduction (Dark Warrior) Even though We are supposed to read Dark Craving (Dark Kings), Night's Awakening (Dark Kings), and Dawn's Desire (Dark Kings) next... I have already read those... so I get to move onto Midnight's Seduction next :) EEEE Thank you Donna Grant for yet another wonderful story that made me wish I lived in your books!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Dani. Being strong enough to help Ian get a handle on himself allow him to love Danielle and gain control of his God. It was amazing!

Have you listened to any of Arika Escalona’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Arika's nations have been in a few Donna Grant books so far and I much prefer her from that of the preceding narrator Anthony Ferguson. She does an outstanding job!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
