Historia
Viv's career with the notorious mercenary company Rackam's Ravens isn't going as planned. Wounded during the hunt for a powerful necromancer, she's packed off against her will to recuperate in the sleepy beach town of Murk—so far from the action that she worries she'll never be able to return to it. What's a thwarted soldier of fortune to do? Spending her hours at a beleaguered bookshop in the company of its foul-mouthed proprietor is the last thing Viv would have predicted, but it may be both exactly what she needs and the seed of changes she couldn't possibly imagine.

A breath of fresh air in fantasy. Well written with great characters and settings. I loved the character of Satchel.

Historia
The year is 2312. Scientific and technological advances have opened gateways to an extraordinary future. Earth is no longer humanity's only home; new habitats have been created throughout the solar system on moons, planets, and in between. But in this year, 2312, a sequence of events will force humanity to confront its past, its present, and its future. The first event takes place on Mercury, on the city of Terminator, itself a miracle of engineering on an unprecedented scale. It is an unexpected death, but one that might have been foreseen....

I love his technology sense as well as his projection of social behaviors. Great character development. As good as RedMars, Blue Mars, Green Mars.

Historia
The Ultimate Battle is the full story of the largest land-sea-air battle ever waged by the United States, a battle whose staggering casualties and take-no-prisoners ferocity led Truman to drop the atomic bomb on Japan. From April through June 1945, more than 250,000 American and Japanese lives were lost, including those of nearly 150,000 civilians who either committed suicide or were caught in the crossfire. This book tells a gripping story of heroism, sacrifice, and death.

Ultimate Battle fills in a lot of history about the end of the war in the Pacific

Most histories of WWII tell about Midway, or Pearl Harbor or the Battle of the Bulge. This book completed my understanding of what happen just prior to the bombing of Hiroshima. It is very well presented.

Fantastic blend of science and drama
Revisado: 04-04-19
This story has just enough science detail to keep reminding you that it ‘‘tis fiction but plausible. Is it a metaphors for our planet and political systems? Maybe. The characters see full fleshed and reasonable. There is just enough tension and drama in the story to keep it interesting. Read it!

Not really worth the effort. Too many kinds of magic and spells, unrealistic battles and angry siblings. It’s hard to keep straight what is going on.
