He's done it again!
Revisado: 09-20-20
I have no clue how Brandon Sanderson manages to write such engaging books, over and over again. In the beginning I really desliked the main character, but it definitely paid off to see her development through. Although this is a YA book suited to teenagers of any age, the themes aren't juvenile at all. The narration was very competent as well.

Historia
Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but longstanding enmities dividing the Rhune make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods? The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind.

Just YES!
Revisado: 04-04-20
YES to real women being really great, believably strong and genuinely resourceful.
YES to all sorts of representation (including people of color, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities and people with mental health issues), which includes peoples faults and hardships, as well as strengths and talents.
YES to having all this without sacrificing plot, world building or character development (on the contrary, it only enhanced it).
Way to go, MJS!
The narration, as usual, was flawless, btw.

Historia
In Age of Myth, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan launched audiences on an epic journey of magic and adventure, heroism and betrayal, love and loss. Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without—and bitter rivalries from within. Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long-standing enmities dividing the Rhunes make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods?

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

Michael J Sullivan did it again!
Revisado: 03-15-20
I will be honest that I was a little worried MJS wouldn't be able to create new characters that are quite as endearing as the ones in Riyria. But, alas, I shouldn't have worried. I now love Persephone, Raithe, Suri and Mina just as much as I love Royce, Hadrian, Arista and Gwen!
His books are a great source of hope for humanity, in days where it's hard to find it in real life sometimes. I'm trying not to binge read this series, because I'm honestly afraid of running out of MJS's books. It will be hard to do, though!

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

Difficult beginning, incredible ending
Revisado: 02-02-20
The main reason I had a hard time getting into the book is that I'm not very fond of big mysteries that aren't revealed to the reader from the beginning just because it's fun to reveal them later. The ending was well worth it, though! Can't wait for the second book.

John Scalzi's story is great, MRK's is awesome, but the other ones are either offensively misogynistic or just plain forgettable. Really disliked this book

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

Beautiful story featuring Turmaline and Vignette's life prior to the Pack invasion. Absolutely worth while. And I don't think you would need to have seen the show to enjoy it either.
