Historia
Summer, 1958. Vivienne Rhodes thinks she’s finally landed her break playing Helen of Troy in Apex Pictures’ big-budget epic, A Thousand Ships, an anticipated blockbuster meant to resurrect the failing studio. Naturally, she’s devastated when she arrives on the remote Italian island of Tavalli and finds herself cast as the secondary character, Cassandra—while her nemesis, the fiancé-stealing Lottie Lawrence, America’s supposed “sweetheart,” is playing the lead role instead.

Glitz, Adventure, and Depth: The Starlets Shines
Revisado: 11-19-24
The Starlets is a delightful blend of fun, adventure, and thought-provoking themes. From the very beginning, the story captivates with its lively pace and dynamic characters, making it an easy and engaging listen. While the plot is full of exciting twists and a sense of cinematic glamour, it also delves into deeper themes that add richness and depth to the narrative.
The audiobook’s performance further enhances the experience, bringing the characters and atmosphere to life in a way that feels immersive and vibrant. Without giving too much away, it’s safe to say that The Starlets strikes a perfect balance between light-hearted fun and meaningful storytelling.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an adventurous and memorable listen. It’s the kind of story that stays with you long after the final chapter. Perfect for fans of adventurous drama with a touch of intrigue.

Historia
When recent NYC-transplant Liz Brinkley and her husband are invited to an exclusive soiree by their neighbor, Liz’s immediate thought is hell no. And yet she RSVPs anyway, trying to extend an olive branch to her withdrawing husband, who seems desperate to get in with the cliquey elite. They’ve barely made it through their first round of champagne when a “red alert” comes through their phones: strange atmospheric masses, reported to look like “glimmering clouds,” have been spreading through major U.S. cities and killing anyone they touch.

A dinner party during the apocalypse? Yes, please!
Revisado: 09-14-23
Do you LOVE dinner parties? Then you will love this book.
Do you HATE dinner parties? Then you will love this book EVEN MORE.
The same can be said for Instagram, #hashtags, PTA meetings, expensive Electric Cars, cell phones, and the state of New Jersey.
No matter how you feel about these things, there is probably something in this book for you.
At first, I was drawn in by the mystery… what is the deal with these glimmering clouds, and why is it so difficult to find good babysitting in New Jersey? I spent the first half of the book obsessively trying to guess what was going on. I was asking myself questions like:
“Who are the heroes and who are the villains?”
“Is this going to end with the apocalypse?”
“Are there going to be zombies or vampires in this book?”
Then, I realized the more interesting questions were way more personal and grounded in reality:
“How would I act during a time of great panic and tragedy?”
“Would I help others, or be selfish?”
“What would I do to get to my children?”
The story is thrilling, but with the right amount of humor. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout.
By the end, I changed my mind about a lot of the characters. You never really know what other people are going through, and we should all be nicer to each other.
Also, when bad things happen in this book, they happen in SPECTACULAR ways! The text is so vivid you feel like you’re right there. You have to read it to see what I’m talking about. No spoilers.

Historia
1907: The dawn of Egyptology is a time of imperialism and plunder, opulence and unrest, and Dr. Warren Ford, esteemed archaeologist, is the man of the hour. His daughters—intellectual Lila, on the eve of her debut as a Manhattan socialite, and nonconformist Tess, who dreams of following in his footsteps—have always lived in his shadow, and their lives couldn’t feel more different. But when a secretive organization seeks to find a lost relic legendary for its dangerous power, it isn’t Dr. Ford they turn to—it’s his two remarkable daughters.

Captivating and Empowering: The Antiquity Affair takes you on an unforgettable adventure!
Revisado: 06-10-23
I really enjoyed this book! "The Antiquity Affair" is an exhilarating and empowering adventure that combines the excitement, treasure hunts, and comedy of "The Goonies" and "Indiana Jones" with the historical intrigue and puzzle-solving of "The Da Vinci Code." It’s a fun-filled story that follows two intelligent and relatable sisters who, in the backdrop of 1907, courageously make their own way in a man's world. With its captivating writing style (each chapter is written from the first-person perspective of sisters Lila and Tess), clever twists, and vivid descriptions, the book kept me engaged from start to finish. The audiobook enhances the experience with incredible performances that bring the characters to life. A refreshing and empowering story, it celebrates the strength of female protagonists and their remarkable fight against evil. A must-read or listen from two of my new favorite authors. I really hope they make a sequel!
