I bout this book quite a while ago, but did't listen to it until last month. It's a fun, unexpected take on vampires mixing with the normal and supernatural worlds. I hooked and will definitely read more of this series.

It was delightful to read more, NEW stories about Harry Dresden and friends. Everything was fresh and in many cases, unexpected. Sometimes a story would flesh out or fill in a blank space. It was always entertaining and fun. I especially enjoyed the last story, told from three points of view (no spoilers here. you just have to listen to the book :>)
It's definitely worth the time, but sadly it ended. Jim Butcher's intros and readings were inspired. I do hope he's able to find time to share more of Harry's files with us.
Oh, for me, it absolutely has to be James Masters. Seems like he knows Harry so well.

Is Magnificent too Strong?
Revisado: 05-26-18
I've read most of Mr. Brown's novels. Some were a little weighty; some didn't end satisfactorily for me; all were interesting to some degree. My introduction to his work was The DaVinci Code, which drew me in and kept me fascinated for the duration. Although Tom Hanks (terrific actor, btw) does a fine job of portraying Robert Langdon, he simply isn't the picture Mr. Brown creates in my mind. Still, I enjoyed all the movie adaptations and found them decent enough.
Until, that is, Inferno. I was about two hours into the book then the movie appeared on TV. I watched it, thinking it might give me a little insight into the book but was I ever surprised. They are dramatically different right out of the gate. I suppose it had to be compressed from the movie, but I'm here to tell you that if you only watch the movie, you're doing yourself a disservice.
I won't insert any movie spoilers here, but suffice to say, if you think the movie tells Dan Brown's story, you really should hear the book for the REAL story. He's outdone himself with his in-depth research, timely story topic, and breathtaking backdrops. This book is so full of twists, I was never sure where it was going. Brown always provides great endings, but I have to say I never saw this one coming.
Paul Michael does his usual stellar work with the accents and dialog. I had no trouble following each character as e read. He is the voice of Robert Langdon in my mind; just as much a part of the book as Langdon's Harris tweed jacket and Mickey Mouse watch.
Great book. Will Dan Brown give us another Robert Langdon book?

You said you'd listen to your favorite narrators read anything: Well, this ambrosial new audiobook brings together an acclaimed cast of narrators to read aloud the menus of some of our favorite local restaurants here at Audible headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, as only they know how. You haven't truly lived, or dined, until you've heard Cassandra Campbell capture the emotional nuances of Newark's best Indian-inflected burgers or let Nick Podehl extol the virtues of the pear arugula salad and then seductively steer you toward a plate of creamy mushroom linguini.

What made the experience of listening to Enchantment the most enjoyable?
It's not what I'm used to reading by this captivating author. Definitely more fantasy than sci fi, but a delightful surprise.
Any additional comments?
I had just finished "Earth Unaware" and wanted something slightly different, yet still Orson Scott Card. I had no idea how different my choice would be. He transported me back and forth between then and now with such ease that I didn't lose touch with the characters or plot. All was tied together nearly at the end. Bravo, Mr. Card. Once again, you exceeded my expectations.

Listening to Spider Robinson tell his stories is such a treat. He ended this series beautifully and left me content instead of feeling like something wasn't finished. I do enjoy the way he ties up all the loose ends. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys any of Spider's books. It's definitely classic "him."

He just gets better
Revisado: 01-30-18
What did you like best about this story?
Dan Brown's attention to detail fascinates me, but this story is by far the best. He really tells a story without so much emphasis on action. I was compelled to listen for long stretches and actually disappointed to reach the end, although definitely NOT disappointed with this conclusion. It is for me, by far his best story. His experience shows.
Which character – as performed by Paul Michael – was your favorite?
Paul Michael slips so easily into the Robert Langdon character and I always enjoy it. He is very adept at communicating all the characters so you don't lost track, even when it's a woman. Hard to say which is my favorite; he performs them all so well, complete with accents and pronunciation. Superb!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's really too long for that, but certainly easy to listen to for long stretches. It was my last "walking" book, however, it was impossible for me to stop listening long after I finished walking on the treadmill.

And so are all the authors. The transition from one chapter/writer to the next is flawless. I enjoyed The Chopin Manuscript enormously and now this mystery. Albert Molina narrated with all the talent and skill I've come to appreciate in him. I love his distinctive voice. All in all, this book and the technique are innovative and just plain fun. And a constant surprise. I had no idea what this book would be. In truth, it was the title that sold me. I didn't expect this exceptional book, but that's what you have here. Add to that Wil Wheaton's reading and this is a definite winner. If you like the unexpected, this is a must hear from all sic fi fans.
