Historia
Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, three retired ladies who volunteer at the local charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, can’t believe their favorite customer is dead. Eighty-six-year-old Sarah Brown was found murdered in her hallway by her delivery man, a domino clutched in her hand—with a name scratched on it. When another person is found dead with a domino in their hand, and with the police making no progress, the ladies will need to help unmask a serial killer. At least they have Fiona’s scruffy-haired terrier cross to assist them.

Fun characters, excellent narration, cleverly twisty plot. Overall just a light, fun, joyful listen. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

So terrible I couldn’t stop reading
Revisado: 05-18-23
This book is poorly written, poorly narrated and overall one of the worst books I’ve ever read. It’s a magical teen romance fantasy, so suspension of belief is a given. However, the plot holes and numerous places where the narrative jumps the shark make it very difficult to care about the characters or the storyline. By halfway through, I’d decided to keep listening because there was *no* way it could get worse, but it did. Towards the end of the book, a main character, who to this point has shown no interest or involvement in religion, begins proselytizing about God. This book is spectacularly awful on all accounts.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Spellbinding
Revisado: 10-06-22
This is one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I have ever experienced. The writing was well-paced and fascinating, and the voice acting was incredible. I have not read a lot of Stephen King, as horror is not my favorite genre. I don’t generally enjoy being scared. Fairy Tale is not scary, and King is an absolute master storyteller, keeping the reader engaged at every turn.
12/10 stars for everything about this audiobook - narration, voice acting, production, writing. Hands down one of my best experiences with Audible products.

Hired to translate the romantic feelings of the unpredictable former TV detective Ronnie Tower, Jack must navigate these two forces of nature in a Rome of late night bars and fancy villas, as he searches for his own role to play.

Excellent Listen!
Revisado: 10-19-20
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Tavia Gilbert does an excellent job with the narration. Her voices and timing bring out the most in the story.
The storyline twists and turns in unexpected ways, the characters are relatable and fun to know, and the pacing is spot-on.
If you are looking for a light, period murder mystery, look no further. I could not recommend this more highly.

Slow.
Revisado: 10-05-20
I enjoy the “Her Royal Spyness” series, and had hoped this book would be as entertaining. It is not. The main character has little personality, and not very much happens during the first 3/4 of the book. The best part are the mouth-watering descriptions of various foods.
