Historia
Ada Sibelius is raised by David, a single father and head of a computer science lab in Boston. Homeschooled, she accompanies her loving father - brilliant, eccentric, socially inept - to work every day. By 12 she is a painfully shy prodigy. At the same time that the lab begins to gain acclaim, David's mind begins to falter, and his mysterious past comes into question. When her father moves into a nursing home, Ada is taken in by one of David's colleagues. She embarks on a mission to uncover her father's secrets.

Ending was a let down!
Revisado: 08-20-20
Maybe I am just stupid or an optimist? I didn’t see that ending coming and I didn’t like it! Sorry!

Historia
In 1958 Georgia, the shade of a 13-year-old black girl's skin can make the difference in her fate. Tangy Mae is the smartest of her mother's 10 children, but she is also the darkest complected. The Quinns - all different skin shades, all with unknown fathers - live with their charismatic, beautiful, and tyrannical mother, Rozelle, in poverty on the fringes of a Georgia town where Jim Crow rules. Rozelle's children live in fear of her mood swings and her violence, but they are devoted to her. Rozelle pulls her children out of school when they are 12 years old so that they can help support her by going to work.

What can even been said about this book?
Revisado: 08-10-20
The telling of the story was so beautiful. I never wanted it to end. The story itself was so heartbreaking some days I had to stop the recording to catch my breath. I was immediately invested in all of the characters. I wanted the events in the story to end but I didn’t want the story to end. Left me with some hope for a few and great anticipation for the next book. This story cannot end here!! Rozelle does NOT win. But, can she redeem herself? I ask myself this question.

Butchered to death!!!
Revisado: 05-14-19
This is my absolute favorite book of all time but it has been butchered by cutting out so much of it!! You can’t tell only half of the story and expect it to have the same impact as the entire book!! Boooo for the editing!!
