Historia
When one of Serilda's outlandish tales draws the attention of the sinister Erlking and his undead hunters, she finds herself swept away into a grim world where ghouls and phantoms prowl the earth and hollow-eyed ravens track her every move. The king orders Serilda to complete the impossible task of spinning straw into gold, or be killed for telling falsehoods. In her desperation, Serilda unwittingly summons a mysterious boy to her aid. He agrees to help her… for a price. Love isn't meant to be part of the bargain.

Interesting Version of an age old fairy tale
Revisado: 03-14-22
Some reviewers hated this story, but I loved it. It is quite dark, be ready for an extremely evil villain. The main character has a lot of maturing to do and sadly she learns the hard way. She leaves absolute devastation in her path as she tries to outwit the villain. In the beginning our heroine is glib and over confident, not so by the end. There is a sequel coming out in November of 2022 that I'm excited to read.

Struggling...
Revisado: 12-06-21
Another podcast about a white girl (FYI I am also a cis white female). Not that Roseanne doesn't deserve justice she absolutely does...but does there need to be a podcast about it? Why are we not hearing about the women of color or indigenous women that go missing and are never found? What about the women and men of color that are murdered and nothing is ever done. That is where our attention needs to be right now.

Historia
Rosanne Boyland hated politics. She was shy, and she rarely left her home in Georgia. But then her family got a shocking call: Rosanne had died at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in the middle of a crowd trying to force its way past a police line. From the depths of their grief, the Boylands vow to figure out what happened to Rosanne. Her brother-in-law, Justin Cave, reaches out to an old high school friend he hopes can help: MSNBC journalist Ayman Mohyeldin. The quest for the truth takes Ayman back to his hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia, where he retraces the last six months of Rosanne's life ...

This is a hard listen...
Revisado: 12-06-21
I'm a lesbian, and it was really really hard for me during the Trump Era. I faced some aweful stuff and so did many of my friends and family. Finding pity for a Trump supporter is not easy for me. But this is important, after all she was more than just a Trump supporter, she had a history, people love her. Everyone deserves justice, and if she was radicalized, its even more important to get justice. Irs almost like being absorbed into a cult, more a victim than part of thr problem. I also grew up in this area...so it was a bitter sweet listen for me.
It is a well done podcast.

AWESOME
Revisado: 02-06-21
Well written, well read, just great. Its an unusual twist on the usual ideas of fairy tales and wizards. The main character is a delightful and independent young woman that faces adversity but discovers she is in fact stronger than she thinks but also quite unusually powerful. Howl himself takes some getting used to. I quite like him, even if he does have a fault or two. The narrator does a fantastic job with all the accents and characters. This is a favorite. I've listened to it about 5 or 6 times now...and I'm sure it will be more.

Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

Excellent: Finally A Conclusion
Revisado: 10-14-19
I finally know what happened to Gilead. Now, this is not about June, we hear from other voices in Gilead, including the very hated but dynamic Aunt Lydia. Lydia's part is read by the actress that plays her in the show...and she does an amazing job. The story comes together beautifully, you must keep reading even though the story begins epically slow. It's so worth the read, the book and the audiobook.
