Historia
Within FBI field operative circles, groups of people known as “Special” by their titles alone, Michael R. McGowan is an outlier. Over the course of his career, McGowan has worked more than 50 undercover cases. In this extraordinary and unprecedented book, McGowan will take listeners through some of his biggest cases, from international drug busts to the Russian and Italian mobs to biker gangs and contract killers to corrupt unions and SWAT work. Ghost is an unparalleled view into how the FBI, through the courage of its undercover Special Agents, nails the bad guys.

Historia
Few historical figures are as intriguing as John Brown, the controversial Abolitionist who used terrorist tactics against slavery and single-handedly changed the course of American history. This brilliant biography of Brown (1800-1859) by the prize-winning critic and cultural biographer David S. Reynolds brings to life the Puritan warrior who gripped slavery by the throat and triggered the Civil War. When does principled resistance become anarchic brutality? How can a murderer be viewed as a heroic freedom fighter? The case of John Brown opens windows on these timely issues.

Very interesting. Well done. He is a true American hero. It is great to read from the top few people who broke the back of the slave institution in the USA.

Why We're Polarized

Historia
In Why We’re Polarized, Klein reveals the structural and psychological forces behind America’s descent into division and dysfunction. Neither a polemic nor a lament, this book offers a clear framework for understanding everything from Trump’s rise to the Democratic Party’s leftward shift to the politicization of everyday culture. America is polarized, first and foremost, by identity. Everyone engaged in American politics is engaged, at some level, in identity politics.

Half good. Half very bad
Revisado: 09-04-20
Half is good. Good ideas. Good concepts.
The half very bad is he is very skewed liberal to the point of completely not understanding the political right.
Me and a massive part of the political right are ONLY political right because we hate socialism. Includes Libertarian. Includes Florida Cuba’s and Venezuela’s that hate communism via real experience with it (and that does NOT make us racist).
His summery of the political right is ONLY “white scare of the political browning of America”.
We are NOT Racist. We 100% support black and brown people having 100% of the ability to thrive as everyone else.
We have 100% valid reasons for being on the political right (purely economics). He dismisses that 100% of the right are illegitimate because our defining reason for being on the right is we are racist. Quote, “white scare of the political browning of America”.
That is 100% not true. And a personal insult. He has an absolute fundamentally complete incorrect understanding of the political right.
Parts are good. His inability to have ANY understanding of the political right means he was unable to take a few good parts of his concepts into the valid parts of the political right.

Historia
Why were no bankers put in prison after the financial crisis of 2008? Why do CEOs seem to commit wrongdoing with impunity? The problem goes beyond banks deemed "too big to fail" to almost every large corporation in America - to pharmaceutical companies and auto manufacturers and beyond. The Chickenshit Club - an inside reference to prosecutors too scared of failure and too daunted by legal impediments to do their jobs - explains why.

Historia
Revolutions come in waves and cycles. We are again riding the crest of a revolutionary epic, much like 1848 or 1917, from the Arab Spring to movements against austerity in Greece to the Occupy movement. In Wages of Rebellion, Chris Hedges - who has chronicled the malaise and sickness of a society in terminal moral decline in his books Empire of Illusion and Death of the Liberal Class - investigates what social and psychological factors cause revolution, rebellion, and resistance.

Historia
One of the 20th century's most challenging novels of ideas, The Fountainhead champions the cause of individualism through the story of a gifted young architect who defies the tyranny of conventional public opinion. The struggle for personal integrity in a world that values conformity above creativity is powerfully illustrated through three characters: Howard Roarke, a genius; Gail Wynand, a newspaper mogul and self-made millionaire; and Dominique Francon, a devastating beauty.

Incredible book
Revisado: 04-18-11
This book is a wonderful novel. Additionally, it shows the break through philosophy of Ayn Rand. It shows real life scenarios that prove out the root causes of the importance of Objectivisim.
It then shows real life scenarios (office politics, etc.) where violating the integrity of a complete philosophy (Objectivism) results in big problems in society.
It was a wonderful audiobook. Well written, well voiced, enjoyable and in every way recommended.
