Absolutely a horrid mess of a story😱

The first book was good but this second book is horrible.
The author gets lost looking at his own navel and we the readers get pulled into his bowels and eliminated in the feces of this story.

DONT BUY IT!

Not terrible. Not great.

The authors work is irregular. Books 3 and 6 are poor and irritating to spend time on without that appreciatory feeling of a story well told.
This book 7 is in between with the salvation to the story being the ending.
I agree with others that I think there were longer stories subsequently chopped up for — financial gain. That’s not a terrible thing for everyone has to make a living and feed their family.

At least half of the prior series and books.
At least start with series 1
And listen or read all the books in that collection.

Some sci-fi just doesn’t hold up after 50 years

Dated.
I like Lem (Stainless Steel Rat, etc.)
But the contrivance that lets the author confabulate a remote future of 2030 — doesn’t work — on multiple levels.
