Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Historia
Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of a boy who ends up murdering seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his 16th birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin’s horrific rampage, in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Such a good read!!!
Revisado: 09-13-20
had a ton of information about the case i didn't hear in any of the other books about this criminal. His past and what he does daily in life is the most interesting to me. and thats where most other books like this fail. i really felt throughout the book that we were took along like a new cop on the case . the way each person had a voice and NOT and male talking as a female character or vise versa was refreshing!!! i am always complaining in my head why dont they just have two people at least read each book if not the real person themselves then at least a girl will be played by a girl... this book rocked from page one till the last words🤗🤗🤗🤗

Historia
When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. In the sweet, untroubled voice of a precocious teenage girl, Susie relates the awful events of her death and her own adjustment to the strange new place where she finds herself. With love, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie watches her family as they cope with their grief. This story of seemingly unbearable tragedy is transformed into a suspenseful and touching narrative about family, memory, love, heaven, and living.

im not sure how others will come away from the Salman family but for one am changed. I have been in a limbo of fear since my bout of cancer a few years ago and it's wierd how a book about a murdered 14 year old girl would help me navigate this difficult path. thank you Alice

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

what a gal
Revisado: 01-31-19
loved it but really had me in the end wondering about a few loss ends. what happens with the therapy sessions. what happens with Jason... I guess I can always fill in the blanks lol. im a bit dug into my own depression and my own crutches I feel shame for. it says something about the connection you feel with each woman and the mirror that it tries to put in front of your eyes. needless to say job well done you left me haunted and in search for my own ear to tug to get sme stuff set right....
