Possibly my favorite book I’ve ever read/listened to.

I have seen the movie over a dozen times. It is objectively, cinematic masterpiece. That is primarily because of one, the Coen brothers, of course, and 2, the source material, itself. Probably the most loyal adaptation I have ever seen. So you would think I would, of course, enjoy the book, but I did not expect to be into it as much as I did.., seeing as.. Well, you know, I’ve seen the movie, so many damn times. Yet, I listened to the whole thing with a 24 hour period. Couldn’t turn away. The movie may have changed very little, but there is a good bit that was left out, so it’s basically like the extended version of the movie. Think I’m going to start Blood Meridian next.

Not to mention the other shorter of books/Novelas, or whatever. I haven’t enjoyed a book series this much in a long time. Probably not since the first time I read the hobbit and Lord of the rings trilogy when I was a kid. Enjoyed this book even more than the first one. I see why they made a show out of this. Loved the first season when it first came out, but then Didn’t have prime for a couple years. Was telling my brother I was gonna go back and start watching again from the beginning, when he mentioned he was reading the books. Somehow, my dumbass didn’t know they were books. Decided to read/ listen to them, first. A little bit audible and kindle sync up. I read a chapter 2 when I have downtime is nothing better to do and then can go straight to Audible and listen, right where I left off, for when I’m driving or doing housework. Very nifty. My only “complaint” is that I have a bunch of books stacking up that I really want to read, but now I’m stuck on these, lol. For now, all that can wait.

thoroughly enjoyable

Absolutely loved this. Deep really is one of the most ...deep characters in the show lol. what he did to starlight is beyond unforgivable. He is a pretty delusional, and quite morally ambiguous. Yet, somehow you..or at least I can't help but like him.. at least as a character. some of the shit he has done and said is unforgivable, and he is definitely pretty arrogant at times, what is made even more clear through this, a lot of it comes from a place of insecurity. but yeah, overall, a third of the enjoyable listen. Was super cool learning more about deep and his history. The fact that he claims Homelander is his BFF&E is pretty funny.. obviously, if you have watched the show, you know that is a massive lie.. this makes me really wish for some sort of homelander memoir. we want to get more in the head of that delusional kind of insecure, terrifying psychopath lol..Poor Deep is beyond petrified of Homelander(as is literally anybody who knows the real him..)

Awesome stories/experiences! I absolutely love this book, just as I did the first installment. Hope one day I have an experienced that I will be able to share with him, and be able to be featured in one of the installments.. Can't wait to start the 3rd!

if you enjoyed the first one..

I love the first book, so of course I had to get this one.. I was worried it wouldn't be as good, but I'm enjoying it just as much. To anyone who's thinking about this one but are upset about the end of the first one, so are skeptical... I won't spoil anything, but just get/read this. plus, I can't really spoil it because what I'm talking about becomes quite apparent in the very first chapter.

I absolutely love this!

l was hesitant to give it 5/5(and instead a 4/5) because it's not a masterpiece of literature or anything like that.. but it's clearly not meant to be. it's a post apocalyptic thriller/horror/action. and it delivers. it's fun, fast paced/really intense at times. keeps you interested throughout. I'm really looking forward to the other books in the series. Again, not a masterpiece of literature, but if you're looking for something fast paced, fun, intense, with good action/monsters and all that, it's an absolute 5/5. Will definitely be finishing the rest of the series and checking out other books by this author.

I was disappointed that I was at the end, but then realized there's another two books after this, so about to start the second one now. if you enjoy the alien movies or just that universe, you will love this.
