Unconvincing sound production
Revisado: 10-11-24
The story was interesting, but unfortunately the sound production ruined this for me. For lack of better words, it sounded cheap. For instance, the sound of foot steps when they run just sounds like a 90s video game, not to mention the fact that it took them 2 seconds to run a distance that is clearly supposed to be longer. Some of the voice actors also sound like they've been recorded separately and then combined in post production. These actors also sounds like they just read their lines as if this was an audiobook rather than playing a character in an dramatisation.

They better make a season 2, because I can't live with the way this one ended!

crappy sound recording

Could have improved sound production in some scenes
Revisado: 10-05-24
I really enjoyed this. You really need to pay attention during the last episode to ensure you grasp what happens, but it's well worth the listen.
My only complaint is that in some indoor scenes it's a little to difficult to hear what's being said. I had to rewind a couple of times.

A true sci-fi classic!
Revisado: 07-02-24
Be aware that this is an old radio play. So "retro sci-fi" is probably a good description. There are also some variations to the sound quality due to it's age. Despite that, this is still a great listen though!

Should have kept the original
Revisado: 05-27-20
I'll never understand why the BBC allowed this remaster to be published. The original already sounded great. In fact, it was a lot better than this "remaster". It would have been fine if they'd also made the original available, but no. Now we're left with this subpar experience. The story is fantastic, please give us the option to buy the original!

Interesting story, average production
Revisado: 03-21-20
The story was OK. A bit lacking in depth, but that's to be expected given the short length of the audio book. The thing that really let this down though is the audio production. It never sounds like the characters are on a ship or alien planet. It very much sounds like the voice actors are all in a room in front of a microphone.
