I really enjoyed Janie in the first book. she was like me, highly intelligent, quirky and weird.
however in the second book she changed to embody autistic characteristics.
the relationship was not authentic and felt forced and fast. her opinion meant nothing.
he steamrolled his way. everything was as it should work out, but it shouldn't have been so hard to get there.

I couldn't even finish listening. I was expecting more of a modern day take on an old story. I found the characters to be unlikeable. shallow. each has one personality trait and that's it. the story touches on several other characters and never goes back.
the obsessive stalking and kidnapping can be attributed to the main theme, but the way it's all described makes me gag. every endearment and description of caressed skin made me uncomfortable.
