After 13 years of entrepreneurship, I have heard every piece of business advice you can imagine. I've experimented more than most and implemented most of what I've heard. A few years ago, after much failure, I began to realize the problem with most tried and true business advice. More often than not, it's given by people who are either grossly under-qualified or people who stand to benefit financially from the advice. As a result, all it does is distract you from the real answer. Perhaps you have found that following a lot of common advice hasn't resulted in success for you.

In the book Zero to One by Peter Thiel, he mentions that during interviews he asks the candidate "What important truth do very few people agree with you on?"
Well, in This is the Answer, Dan lays out a whole string of truths that he believes, many of which rub against common knowledge. The thing is though, he's right on most of them.
It's easy to just take what everyone agrees with and regurgitate it. Even intelligent people can get caught up on "the best practices" if you hear it enough, even if they are wrong. Dan is willing to challenge your thinking on a lot of this.
This book is super refreshing to me. As an experienced entrepreneur I've stopped listening to most business books because so many are crap. Dan's voice is unique, and his message is very educational, even to the experienced. This book has me rethinking some current projects, and lets me see what contributed to past success in a new light.
I really recommend this book, and I'll probably re-listen again in a year or so.

Very informative and actually a very enjoyable listen. Everyone should read this before they start investing in the markets.
Also for any fellow entrepreneurs, this reconfirms what you already know in your gut.
