Prof Croft Universe gets a solid add on

It doesn't beat you over the head that this story exists in the Prof Croft universe and does so with an excellent flare. The character is a solid new idea, the area isn't NYC and the entire feel is 100% different yet still what you're used to from the Croft-verse.

Felt like half a book - Decent read but not on par

The book is a solid "okay". It doesn't really do anything for the over all story beyond maybe set up book 20. Ton of filler, not much actual story and just when you get to the story, the book ends. Slightly disappointing but we'll see where it leads.

Somehow, and I'm still not sure how, Shirtaloon's writing and Heath Miller's narration makes software logs enjoyable in a narrative since. "has been added to your inventory" is heard ALOT. But you don't get tired of it. You might come close, but it's done well enough to not be nagging. Solid book, Jason is a fun lead character. I typically don't like LitRPGs, but this one is done in such a way where it doesn't seem like you're reading a video game with cheat codes enabled.

This book, overall, is the same style we've had for 12 books now. Impossible Odds. Skippy de Machina. End. Honestly, I gave up during the book "Valkryie", but just wanted to see how it ended because I couldn't just stop in the middle.
If GalaxyQuest and Get Smart! had an unintended child, it's Expeditionary Force. Now that it's over, I can take it all in an honestly say I'm glad I read it for the characters, but I definitely would have stopped at Book 8 if not for for characters like Nurt, Scarandom (sp?), Nagatha & Bilby, etc. That said, where 15 ends, it wouldn't be a terrible place for a new series to begin. Maybe.

It's a fun Zombie apocalypse story. Huge fan of Murphy. Zed is interesting enough to ride along inside his head. There are so military lingo narration quirks, but they're not awful. All in all, a solid 55 hours to spend.

The Depression Files: Book 2. Harry Dresden has seen stuff, and he's not liked by many people. Thankfully, the enemy is an idiot. The McGuffin is awful. And just... okay. This is the first Dresden Book I officially do not like. I gave it 2 stars basically for Butters. Marsters is a great narrator again, but this story was just bad. I'll check out Book 18 because I'm 17 books in, but that'll be the line for me.

Harry Dresden, Wizard of Chicago, has seen stuff. And he's going to remind you of that for the next 20+ hours. (This is Book 1 of 2 basically.) I was having a hard time with the Winter Knight plot, and this doesn't make it any easier. James Marsters does a great job and its great to hear him as Harry again. I'll see where book 18 goes.. but this might be the end for me and Dresden.
