Fun story with lots of spicy heat

Lighthearted fun listen with lots of spice sprinkled liberally throughout. I had a somewhat difficult time listening to the narrator’s accent, she definitely has a southern sound, just not necessarily a Texas born and raised one. Being Texan since 3mos old and teased mercilessly for my own accent, I hear differences more than most. Enjoyable and quick read.
Not a cliffhanger ending, but definitely something that makes you want to get the next in line to find out what happens.

Best buds Milo Manganiello and Alice Hooper have been the one constant in each other's lives for over 15 years. The charismatic and compassionate physics professor was there when Alice got married, and he was there 10 years later when she got divorced. Likewise, the candid and kind computer science professor has always been there for Milo. She babysits his apartment and plethora of houseplants when he's traveling, and they share breakfast together every day he's in town.

I wish there was a little more

I loved the story and the characters. I was more upset at the sister than I was at Alice or Milo. She was using “code” to erroneously advise Alice when Alice was very clear in what she wanted or needed.
